See the award winning film, “Standing Rock: Take Me From the River,” screening one night only on Thursday, October 25th, 7:00pm at Linneman’s in Riverwest. As Allen Myers, the director of “The Earth Day Film Festival” Los Angeles, said: “This revealing film challenges all of us to reassess our role in the exploitation of the planet and indigenous people.” This film, by local activist and musician Denny Rauen, has been on a world tour of film festivals, and is being offered due to public demand. Also screened will be a special short film about regional water activism by filmmaker Dusan Harminc and Milwaukee’s own Overpass Light Brigade. A short panel discussion about water issues and indigenous resistance will follow the screenings.
