Eclecti-Pop! is (or, when in the U.K., are) the uniquely “almost-every-genre” melange of longtime folkie/rocker Laura Nash (drums/guitar), journeyman punk-pop bassist/guitarist Paul McComas and, up front, pop and baroque(!)-music maven Emily Quinn (keyboard/lead vocal). (Oh, and they’re all active feminists.) The Chicago-based band’s name came in reply to the question “What do you play?” (Alternate answer: Everything EXCEPT metal, gangsta rap, and arena-friendly hair-band cock-rock.) This homecoming performance for Cream City native Paul is just the second gig ever for Eclecti-Pop!; come watch ’em make a li’l hometown-history with diverse originals (by all three members) and a, yes, eclectic range of well-chosen pop/rock/etc. covers.
