“With his Midwest-inspired music and cowboy charm, Tommy Goodroad
possesses damn near all the qualities one could want from a modern country singer,” says Corrine Robinson of Music Mecca. Blending the folksy charm of Midwestern roots music with the rollicking sensibilities of classic honky tonk, Tommy Goodroad’s unique brand of country rock & roll shines in his debut studio album, Goddammit, co-produced by Goodroad and punk luminary Amos Pitsch (Tenement, Dusk), following his work on Hotline TNT’s acclaimed 2025 album Raspberry Moon.
Based in Chicago by way of Minnesota, Goodroad has shared the stage with a diverse array of acts such as The Cactus Blossoms, Merce Lemon, and Jaime Wyatt, in venues across the country. He recorded Goddammit in Appleton, Wisconsin at Crutch of Memory Enterprises, backed by the seasoned ensemble of Chicago musicians that has made up his touring band since 2021.

Armed with little but a 6-string, a harp rack and a stack of songs that harken back to the wrought folk rock of yesteryear, Max Niemann packs a punch that is as heartfelt as it is biting. Roaming a sonic trail blazed by country punks and folk poets immemorial, pre-Dylan on up through Tweedy, Niemann follows in the footsteps of the American troubadour lineage, propelling it into the present with songs that are as likely to strike a chord with the modern metropolitan as they are the lonesome wanderer. With his ever-evolving band of Fellow Travelers at his side, the group provides rustic backdrops for the hard-nosed, intimate stories of human joy, suffering and striving that occupy Niemann’s songs.
Alewives is a country-rock band known to jangle, choogle, twang, drone, and maybe even jam. Born out of stewardship for rock n’ roll, the (mostly) Wisconsin-based projects draws from numerous classic forms like heartland rock, power-pop, garage, roots rock, art punk, country, and more. An equal dose of tongue-in-cheek and heart-on-sleeve, Alewives wavers between descants of self doubt and wry tales of frustration at the self-serve laundry.
