Smoke N’ Mirrors is a jazz organ trio from Milwaukee, WI, consisting of Gabriel Hammer (keys), Pete Geraci (sax), and Sam Kacala (drum set). The band has been playing together since 2018 and has released their first studio album, Wolf Party. They are known for their funk-soul sound and have recently released their third album, Confabulation. Smoke N’ Mirrors brings new life to the classic organ trio sound with original compositions and fresh improvisations, inspired by jazz legends and popular artists alike. They aim to create a fun, dance-friendly vibe while pushing the limits on self-expression through improvised solos and hypnotic grooves.
Gabriel Harris, a Milwaukee musician, is known for his high-impact vocals and finger-twisting guitar work. His music often blends genres, including blues, rock, soul, funk, and alternative sounds. Harris’s latest release, “Can’t Go On With This,” showcases his ability to intertwine these genres while maintaining a unique style. The track features powerful vocals, a bouncy bassline, and horn and saxophone solos, creating a soulfully funky atmosphere. Harris’s collaboration with Kyle White at Wire & Vice has also been instrumental in the production of this track, resulting in a well-produced and audible piece that captures the raw frustration in Harris’s voice as he addresses the complexities of communication in relationships.”
