Offtide is a Milwaukee-based psychedelic Post-Rock band formed by longtime local musicians Sam Balistreri (guitar, synth, vocals), Matt Martell (bass, vocals), and Alex Keimel (drums) in 2023. Drawing inspiration from a multitude of artists and genres, Offtide is a product of pure passion that blends elements of post-rock, shoe-gaze, psychedelia, and progressive rock to create a unique listening experience.
After a drunken conversation in twenty sixteen about forming a cover band to play at Sunday brunches, Obscure Birds hatched. Musically a blend of many different styles and influences coming together as small batch, handcrafted, artisan musical expressions in Americana. Drawing wide ranged comparisons from Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound, The Small Faces, Tom Waits, Early R.E.M., and LOW.
