Working with the U.S. State Department and under their own nonprofit\, Bluegrass Ambassadors\, the band incorporates music from\, Asia\, the Middle East and more into their already robust repertoire of unique traditional American music. When performing live\, presenting workshops and wherever they are\, the Henhouse Prowlers find and spread the commonality we share as human beings through the universal language of music. You can feel it at every show. On stage\, the group’s electrifying performances give audiences a sense of how much they love what they do; while on record\, the band manages to explore their collective life experiences through songwriting and intricate instrumentation. While bluegrass is the undeniable foundation of the Prowlers music\, the band manages to bend and squeeze the traditional form into a sound all their own.

DESCRIPTION:Armchair Boogie formed in the heart of Wisconsin in 2014 as a bluegrass duo featuring Augie Dougherty (banjo) and Ben Majeska (guitar). After a handful of shows\, they recruited a well versed rhythm section (bassist Eli Frieders and drummer Denzel Connor) to hold down the upbeat tempos and provide an extra oomph that’ll bring even the saddest uncle to the dance floor. Since then\, they’ve toured consistently around the country playing alongside top notch acts at venerable venues and festivals like Summer Camp Music Festival and Boats & Bluegrass. The sound has a newgrass feel that’s not afraid to delve into the realms of funk or country. Keep an eye out for Armchair Boogie’s debut album set to be released spring 2018\, and don’t miss them on the road year round! \nKind music for kind people. Kind Country is a Jamgrass band playing American standards as well as their own brand of Cosmic American music. Since their formation in 2012\, the band has focused creating live performances with high levels of improvisation and energy gathering with a goal of creating a moment of musical bliss that can be shared by audience members and band alike.

DESCRIPTION:Fred Bliffert has a long and storied career in Milwaukee and the national music scenes! Starting in the 1960’s Fred founded such renowned bands as Freddie & the Freeloaders\, Hound Dog Band\, Jelly\, and Freddy & the Blifftones. Fred recorded two albums on major labels\, and charted several hits nationally. He is also President & CEO of Bliffert Lumber Company. Fred has collaborated with\, and had several albums produced by the legendary Al Kooper – co-founder of Blood\, Sweat and Tears and the man who famously created and recorded the organ part on Bob Dylan’s seminal “Like a Rolling Stone.” Backing Fred’s amazingly soulful voice and driving rhythm guitar is a band cast with longtime\, well-known\, skilled Milwaukee veterans!

DESCRIPTION:Tyne Darling is a Milwaukee\, WI-based musician. Sometimes\, though\, he lives in Brooklyn. He has some black-ink tattoos on both of his arms. His music works to conjure elements of both Raymond Carver and Greg Dulli. He’s toured throughout the U.S.\, Europe\, and Canada\, played festivals such as SXSW\, Wakarusa\, and CMJ\, and supported the likes of Richard Buckner\, Charlie Mars\, Dale Watson\, and The Bottlerockets. In 2016\, Tyne Darling will release a new LP entitled\, These Ghosts. Occasionally\, Tyne Darling publishes stories under the name Tom Vollman. He really likes Kurt Vonnegut\, Two Cow Garage\, Tillie Olsen\, Joan Didion\, Tom Colicchio\, Willy Vlautin\, and Albert Camus. \nFor the last 16 years Micah Schnabel has toured the world as one of the main songwriters for the critically acclaimed Columbus\, Ohio based band Two Cow Garage. Micah Schnabel is a beat poet who uses a guitar instead of a typewriter. Schnabel doesn’t just wear his heart on his sleeve. No\, Schnabel put his heart right in front for all to see as a bright red tattoo on his throat. When not touring the world with Two Cow Garage\, Schnabel has been quietly releasing and touring with his solo material over the last 8 years. The lyrical focus and emotional range of Schnabel’s solo work has allowed him to tour with artists ranging all the way from Frank Turner\, Lucero\, and Beach Slang.\n\nVanessa Jean Speckman will open.
