SUMMARY:November 17\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:Meadowers is a four piece indie rock band based in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Their music draws influence from artists such as Pinegrove\, Death Cab For Cutie\, The Hotelier\, and Noah Gundersen. The band’s songs are introspective and confessional\, with syncopated and intentional arrangements. Meadowers’ guitar-driven songs\, accompanied by an intricate rhythm section\, are expressive and honest. \nIn 2022 Meadowers put out their debut full-length album that covers lots of ground\, from early twenties insecurities\, to new love\, to existential concerns. Meadowers aims to make something “real” and is grounded in the shared human experience\, and hopes to resonate in a meaningful way with their listeners. \n \n  \n\nWildered blends folk music and banjos with synths and full band energy. A collective project of artists and musicians from across the US\, spearheaded by singer-songwriter Nate Bjorge based out of Milwaukee\, Wisconsin. This project was birthed out of a need to express life’s afflicting or ‘wildering’ experiences through honest lyrics and stories\, unique sounds\, and a diverse sonic spectrum. \nThe project’s ambition is to try new things\, unique sounds\, and share honest lyrics and stories. Wildered has just released their ambitious debut album ‘Emezov’\, as well as traveled through the US to share a unique live experience that brings these songs\, as well as a unique digest of covers\, to life. \n \n\nSunday Drive is an alt-rock band based in Milwaukee\, WI whose songs have an driven\, hopeful tone. Fusing classic rock alternative and modern indie pop influences\, the band delivers a fresh approach to an open\, honest\, guitar-driven sound. \n \n\nDoors at 6pm\, music at 7pm\, $12

DESCRIPTION:Kick off the final month of 2023 right with a performance by The John Sieger Combo live from Linneman’s! He’ll play songs from throughout his career\, including Semi-Twang\, the R&B Cadets\, El Supremo and his solo records. The tempo is upbeat\, and the core of the band is familiar — with John’s brother Mike on bass and brotherly harmonies\, Bob Jennings on keys and sax\, and Bob Schneider on drums. \n“If there’s an unsung hero in American Music right now it just might be John Sieger… His voice is a study in emotional grace\, one that touches all the places inside us that need touching… Sieger shows us that walking down a familiar sidewalk and grabbing melodies from thin air is a holy pursuit\, and then carving words into the music takes things right into an eternal quest for permanence.”\n— Bill Bentley // Americana Highways \nSubscribe to the John Sieger Benevolent Society and get a song every Monday! Check it out at www.patreon.com/JohnSieger \n \n\nDoors at 6:30pm\, Music at 7:30\, $15

Sometimes the band writes them for themselves\, other times they pay a bunch of money to have a professional do it. Well\, instead of that whole hoopla\, I’m just going to explain why I think Sarah and I find serious amounts of joy in making music together. We met back in the early days of Dead Horses and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. Those are our two “main bands”\, ya know\, our day jobs. Anyhow\, we immediately hit it off and became friends. I think there was a sense of musical and life curiosity\, as well as mutual respect\, that drew us together. That feeling led to us hanging out at my college rental house in Stevens Point. We started playing music together and there was this wonderful and immediate sense of chemistry. The floors were wooden\, and I think that made the sound sparkle a little bit too. That really was the first night of “Rucksack Revolution”. Since then\, our friendship and our music have grown and created some great nights of music and magic. Sometimes we play songs we’ve recently written\, other times we play songs from Dead Horses or Horseshoes\, and sometimes we even play songs we’ve never played for anyone before. Sometimes we feel real high\, sometimes we feel real low. I think we take comfort and pride in the acceptance that we have for one another and I think that creates a relaxed feeling that can lead to some beautiful sounds. In the spring and summer of 2021\, we decided to go to a recording studio and lay down some music that was uniquely us. It feels like that experience drew us musically closer yet and I feel great\, and grateful\, about what we created. People are always asking about the future and the past\, but sometimes it’s best to just see what is\, right now. When we get together\, we try to embrace that moment and hope that the folks that come around can join us in that. I think Sarah’s a wonderful songwriter\, a great human\, and a dear friend. I really\, really enjoy making music with her. How’s that for a damn bio? -Adam Greuel \nAdditional Information: “I see a vision of a great rucksack revolution thousands or even millions of young americans wandering around with rucksacks\, going up into the mountains to pray\, making children laugh and old men glad\, making young girls happy and old girls happier\, all of ’em zen lunatics who go about writing poems that happen to appear in their heads for no reason and also by being kind and also by strange unexpected acts keep giving visions of eternal freedom to everybody and to all living creatures.” -Jack Kerouac in Dharma Bums \n \n\nDoors at 7pm\, show at 8pm.  Tickets\, $20 advance\, $30 at the door.\, Advance tickets online here:  TBA soon!!

Blacktop draws from a large pool of influence – from Ethiopian jazz and Latin rhythms of the 1960-70s to modern pop and alternative artists such as levitation room\, Babe Rainbow\, Skinshape\, Loving\, and Kate Bollinger. With nearly all recording\, mixing\, and production being done in Wood’s home studio\, the music of Blacktop is adorned with gentle and dreamy vocals\, washed-out guitars\, and acoustic percussion and rhythmic elements. The project’s core is rooted in the spiritual and Zen philosophy of dwelling in the present moment\, mindfulness\, and impermanence. Blacktop is able to be heard through the airwaves on 889 Radio Milwaukee\, and is featured on Lilliput Record’s “Local Milwaukee Showcase”. \n \n\nWhen singer-songwriter Max Janairo (they/them) performs by themself\, they go by their full first name: Maximiano. For the last year and a half\, Max has been writing and releasing music as part of the local band Crawlspace\, during which time many songs that didn’t fit that group’s aesthetic were stored away. Since the band’s break-up\, these songs have found new life and new meaning. Riding waves of indie folk orchestration\, Maximiano’s plaintive voice conveys the heartbreak\, love\, and growth that continue to define the artist’s musical experiences. In live solo performances\, Maximiano offers an intimate experience\, one that lets the communal love of music overtake and renew the emotion of these songs. \n \n\n\n\n\n\nBorn and raised in the Good Land\, ANDII has been making music for more than a decade. Her powerful\, transcendent voice draws from the traditions of American jazz and folk vocalists of the 50’s and 60’s\, while her writing and performative style lean towards contemporary Pop & Rock N’ Roll sensibilities. With an air of vulnerability and humility throughout her lyricism\, she offers a unique perspective into the world of relationships—relationships with others\, with Mother Earth\, and with ourselves. \n \n\n\n\n\n  \n\nDoors at 6pm\, Music at 7pm\, $12 ADV (The Longest Night: ANDII/Blacktop/Maximiano Tickets\, Thu\, Dec 21\, 2023 at 7:00 PM | Eventbrite)  $15 DOS
