Bill writes and arranges his own material and has produced a considerable body of work. Bill was an integral part of the Milwaukee acoustic folk scene for many years and appeared regularly at various clubs including the Blue River Café\, Numero Unos\, The Crystal Palace\, The Avante Garde and the 19th Street Coffee House. \nBand Members\nJASON KLAGSTAD – Guitars\, backing vocals – Jason is considered one of the top live and studio musicians in the Milwaukee area and has been playing professionally for over 45 years. \nHe has been a member of several area and nationally known bands\, including stints with Howie Epstein (Tom Petty)\, Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads)\, Arroyo\, Color Radio\, Warner Bros. recording artist\, Semi-Twang\, Bill Camplin (since 1974) and the local rock band favorite\, Plumb Loco. His distinctive guitar playing style has been featured on many recordings. With Peter Buffet for example\, he recorded film\, tv and recording projects\, appearing on 3 Buffett albums and the soundtrack for the Kevin Costner television special\, 500 Nations. During his performing/recording career\, Jason also ran several area music stores\, including his own – Big Music\, a specialty music instrument store\, until the mid1990’s. \nBOB ‘HOT DOG’ MUELLER – drums\, stoicism – Forty-plus years on the SE Wisconsin music scene. The driving force behind a range of bands spanning Bill Camplin’s Woodbine to virtually every A-list blues combo (Short Stuff\, Billy Flynn\, Raw Rockers\, Leroy Airmaster) and Camplin’s current ensemble. \nPAUL WEHRLEY – Bass guitar – Although Paul played trombone in marching band while in high school\, he did not envision trombone as his musical nexus. A couple of friends needed a bass player and Paul\, always the organizer\, agreed. From 1974 – 1982 Paul co-founded and played with both RIO and Arroyo\, two of the region’s seminal Country Rock bands. His early immersion in that genre provided a deep connection with Bill Camplin’s material. \nAfter his four year stint with Arroyo he became one of region’s top studio engineers\, typically working out of Waukesha’s Breezeway studios producing albums for many regional and national Artists. During this time he also played for many years with local cover rock band\, Plumb Loco. Today\, Paul is a property manager and lives in Elm Grove with his wife Jane.

DESCRIPTION:Mahmoud Amireh is well known in Milwaukee’s Riverwest Neighborhood as the jolly Oud player and cashier behind the counter at Sunrise Foods for many years.  Recently retired\, Mahmoud is now again pursuing what has always made him most happy in life:  Music! \nMahmoud’s love for music began at an early age in his home country of Jordan.  At 10-years-old\, he learned how to play the accordion in grade school.  His next endeavor involved taking classes in high school to learn the Turkish instrument called the Oud.  Soon he and some friends started a band\, playing graduation and wedding parties. After high school\, he joined the Jordan Army Band as a professorial musician\, also taking up another beloved instrument\, the Saxophone!  After 16 years\, Mahmoud retired from the Jordan Army Band with honors! \nIn the early 2000’s he and some fellow band members came to America for the first time\, hired by Arabian Fest on the site of Milwaukee’s Summerfest grounds. He loved Milwaukee so much he decided to stay! Now retired from Sunrise Foods\, Mahmoud is beginning to take up music again. \nTonight’s show is open to the public. Tonight’s featured performer is Monica Murphy. \nLinneman’s Riverwest Inn is reopening with Open Stage on June 24th\, which starts at 8pm. I\, Monica Murphy will be the feature playing a half hour set at 9pm. \nIf you also would like to sign up to participate\, the sign-up list is out at 7:30pm\, you can play three songs or up to 15 minutes\, whichever comes first. \nThe itinerary is:\n7pm: Doors Open\n7:30pm: Sign up list is released\n8pm: Jim opens the Open Stage\, musicians play their masterpieces!\n9pm: Monica Murphy plays\n9:30pm-11pm: more musicians perform (depends how many sign up) \nGiven the fact that the pandemic is still going on\, Linneman’s has taken precautionary measures to ensure your safety. With that said\, please know you are coming at your own risk. \nSome of the safety measures are listed below:\n1) The owners of Linneman’s Riverwest Inn would prefer everyone to wear a mask when walking from your table to the bar to the bathroom etc.\n2) Your temperature will be read with a forehead thermometer at the door before entering. If you have a temperature of 100.5 degrees or more\, you will be denied entrance.\n3) If you look sick\, you will be denied entrance.\n4) Due to Milwaukee’s Phase I of Reopening\, Linneman’s can only allow 40 people in the building\, so come early if you want to secure a seat \nFun facts about my set:\n1) Some of the songs will be on an EP I’m recording\n2) I’m going to play a charango\, which is an Andean instrument\n3) All songs will be originals\n4) My music is a healthy mix of melancholy and humor\n5) Myself and the other musicians will be honored by your presence\, but I totally understand if you don’t feel comfortable going to it in person.
