SUMMARY:Long Mama w/ Luke Callen\, & Jacob Miller * July 31\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Presale tickets here:   https://www.eventbrite.com/e/long-mama-luke-callen-and-jacob-miller-at-linnemans-tickets-1418009327069?aff=oddtdtcreator \nLong Mama’s music blisters with the heart and grit of someone who has lost hard\, loved harder\, and licked her burns until they stung then silvered. In a drafty attic just west of the Milwaukee River she grew up on\, you’ll find songwriter Kat Wodtke (Wood-key) raking through notebooks in search of a salve: words\, stories\, and sounds to temper the dumpster fires we never mean to light. Flickering behind each song is Wodtke’s lived insight into our human faults & fissures – the moments in life when we can slip and lose our footing\, or claw our way out…better people on the other side of the blaze. \nWodtke coined the name Long Mama (after a prickly\, shade-loving cactus) and teamed up with guitarist Andrew Koenig and drummer Nick Lang\, a pair whose chemistry adds dusky afterglow to Wodtke’s musical landscapes. Upright bass ace Samual Odin came aboard soon after\, along with regular collaborator Eva Nimmer\, whose backing vocals blend so elegantly with Wodtke’s that one could mistake them for blood harmonies. \n \n\nAt the intersection of Harry Smith’s Old Weird America – the songs of heartworn highways – and the tumult of today you can find the music of Luke Callen.  The songs – equal parts tragic comedy and hopeless reverie – paint a picture of the places and people that make up his earthly home.  A poet – a player – a folk singer – Luke has traversed his country unraveling tall tales – short tunes and all that’s hidden underneath. \nOriginally from the river town of La Crosse\, Wisconsin – the heart of the Driftless Region on the Mississippi River – and currently lives in Minneapolis\, Minnesota by way of Colorado\, Luke brings his humble sense of humor and humanity wherever he may go. \n \n\n  \nFirmly rooted in American traditional music\, Jacob Miller’s musical sensibilities remain timeless but challenge the construct of folk\, pop\, and singer-songwriter genres.  \nTouting a resume of extensive touring to national television performances\, he has garnered praise from talents such as James Taylor and Nick Jonas\, with Taylor stating that he believes “Miller has really got something.” These sentiments are echoed by Miller’s followers and supporters.Jacob’s evocative music strives to create a lush landscape for the listener. With a string of singles\, two studio albums – This New Home (2019) and Around My Head (2022) – and an EP of cover songs\, Miller has created a wide library of music over the years. His upcoming album\, Bask in the Wonder\, is set to release in 2025  and features new\, original songs that beautifully build upon his past style\, with engaging lyrics and an uplifting sound. Co-produced by Sam Weber\, Miller’s new album calls out as a beacon to everyone – whether you want something to dance to\, reflect upon\, or to simply be told a story\, Jacob Miller has something for you. \n \n\nDoors at 7pm\, Music at 8pm\, $15 \nPresale tickets here:   https://www.eventbrite.com/e/long-mama-luke-callen-and-jacob-miller-at-linnemans-tickets-1418009327069?aff=oddtdtcreator \n\nFacebook Event Page

DESCRIPTION:There’s a new Milwaukee heavy psych band called Shadeseeker. The group features Jeremy Peters on guitar and vocals; Evan Kotlowski on bass\, vocals\, and synth; and Dan Dahl on drums. Their debut single is called “Hatman.” It’s about\, well\, the Hatman. “I’m wide awake\, laying in my bed / Yes I’m afraid\, that I am already dead / Oh Hatman\, please don’t come round here again.” It absolutely rips!  – Matt Wild\, Milwaukee Record \n \n\nMilou Moon is the psych rock project of French-American musician Emily McGill (she/her). Originally from Chicago\, Emily resides and creates in Naarm/Melbourne on Wurundjeri land. Inspired by the classic psych movement of the 60s and 70s\, wistful vocal melodies and hypnotic\, guitar- and harmony-laden soundscapes form the essence of her dreamlike approach. \n \n\n“If you’ve ever wanted to hear a band that’s about to hit it’s stride\, [Fuzzy & the Surfs] is the album to check out immediately. With a sound reminiscent of 60’s pop\, the band puts a refresh on a tried and true formula\, with clean guitars\, crisp organ keys\, and melodies that will be stuck in your head for days.” – Allen Halas \n \n\nDoors at 7:00pm\, Music at 8:00pm\, $15

SUMMARY:Mas Verde w/ Varsity Mac and Gabriel Harris * August 16\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Mas Verde is a fusion of Rock\, Blues\, Jazz\, and Psych. Starting out of Milwaukee\, WI\, Mas Verde is a music collective formed around the songs written by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Zach Spiegler. Inspiration behind the music of Mas Verde ranges from The Cars\, The Beach Boys\, and David Bowie to more modern acts like Mac Demarco and Tame Impala. Mas Verde’s music is a reflection of good times\, falling in and out of love\, and drinking a beer while daydreaming about your life. Plus\, the world needs more green\, don’t you think?! \n \n\nVarsity Mac:  Born and raised Milwaukee\, WI currently living in Madison\, WI. Mainly indie pop music with a crossover of alternative/psychedelic and influences of hip-hop\, shoegaze\, metal\, and many more. Something for everyone 🙂 \n \n\n“Milwaukee singer-songwriter Gabriel Harris is one of those artists with a very cool dichotomy. He lives up to the listener’s expectations — in his case\, high-impact vocals and finger-twisting guitarwork — while also finding creative ways to knock them off-kilter. \nSome of that stems from his preference to swerve between genre lanes and often ride two or three at the same time. As he describes it\, blues and rock get the most love but wind up intertwined with soul\, funk and alternative sounds.”  Radio Milwaukee | By Brett Krzykowski. \n \n\nDoors at 7pm\, Music at 8pm\, $10

SUMMARY:Max & the Fellow Travelers w/ Glass Beagle\, & Sludge Hawking * August 22\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Armed with little but a 6-string\, a harp rack and a stack of songs that harken back to the wrought folk rock of yesteryear\, Max Niemann packs a punch that is as heartfelt as it is biting. Roaming a sonic trail blazed by country punks and folk poets immemorial\, pre-Dylan on up through Tweedy\, Niemann follows in the footsteps of the American troubadour lineage\, propelling it into the present with songs that are as likely to strike a chord with the modern metropolitan as they are the lonesome wanderer. With his ever-evolving band of Fellow Travelers at his side\, the group provides rustic backdrops for the hard-nosed\, intimate stories of human joy\, suffering and striving that occupy Niemann’s songs. \n \n  \n\nGlass Beagle is a popular Chicago\, Illinois band\, Country and Folk\, Power Pop and Rock n’ Roll is what they bring. \n \n\nSludge Hawking new hard folk from Milwaukee! \n \nDoors at 7:00pm\, Music at 8:00pm\, $10 \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Milwaukee Polka Riot * September 6\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Milwaukee Polka Riot is America’s first and (as far as we know) only alternative polka festival. \nWhat began as a fever dream shared among Keith Gaustad\, Tahrim Tatum and Evan Maruszewski\, finally came to fruition for the very first time on October 21st\, 2017. \nIn clandestine meetings with Jim Rice\, Eoin McCarthy and Frank Chandek\, the Milwaukee Polka Riot grew from a germ of a questionable idea to a full-fledged\, ridiculous reality. \nWhether you like it or not\, The Milwaukee Polka Riot is an annual festival showcasing a host of amazing\, off-kilter bands you’re unlikely to see all in one place\, anywhere else. \n“Milwaukee Polka Riot celebrates alternative permutations of the folkloric dance music of Central Eastern European\, carried by immigrants to the Midwest\, and with which the Cream City is still associated.” – Shepherd Express \n\n\n\n\nDoors will be at 5pm\n\n\nDJ Shotski will be warming up the room with a vinyl spin and keeping the vibes going between bands.\n\n\nThe Polkaholics® kick off at 6:30\n\n\nThe November Criminals w/ Mario The Poet go on at 7:30\n\n\nThe Frantastic Sound System join in the fun around 8:45\n\n\nThe Good Friends Klezmer band close out the live music beginning around 9:45\n\n\nDJ Brumeister will end the night with a vinyl spin for anyone still trying to perfect their two-step\n\n \nDoors at 5:00pm\, The Milwaukee Polka Riot is free!

SUMMARY:Smoke N' Mirrors w/ Gabriel Harris Band\, & Digbii * October 17\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Smoke N’ Mirrors is a jazz organ trio from Milwaukee\, WI\, consisting of Gabriel Hammer (keys)\, Pete Geraci (sax)\, and Sam Kacala (drum set). The band has been playing together since 2018 and has released their first studio album\, Wolf Party. They are known for their funk-soul sound and have recently released their third album\, Confabulation. Smoke N’ Mirrors brings new life to the classic organ trio sound with original compositions and fresh improvisations\, inspired by jazz legends and popular artists alike. They aim to create a fun\, dance-friendly vibe while pushing the limits on self-expression through improvised solos and hypnotic grooves. \n \n\nGabriel Harris\, a Milwaukee musician\, is known for his high-impact vocals and finger-twisting guitar work. His music often blends genres\, including blues\, rock\, soul\, funk\, and alternative sounds. The track features powerful vocals\, a bouncy bassline\, and horn and saxophone solos\, creating a soulfully funky atmosphere.
