SUMMARY:** Postponed ** Warrior Songs Fundraiser w/ Jason Moon\, Jesse Tyler Frewerd\, Frogwater\, and The Mambo Surfers! * July 20\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:This fundraiser has been postponed.  A new date has not yet been established. \n*********************************************************************************************************************************** \n\nJason Moon\, Jesse Tyler Frewerd\, Frogwater\, and The Mambo Surfers all coming together in concert to raise funds for Warrior Songs. \nAbout Warrior Songs Inc. \n\n\n\n\nWarrior Songs Inc. is a non-profit organization that brings hope and healing to veterans through music and the creative arts. Through a variety of programs\, Warrior Songs uses the arts to assist veterans and civilians in better understanding the war experience. \nOur mission is to transform buried experiences and feelings into art that entertains as it educates\, motivates\, and inspires. We believe that helping those who have experienced war to express their struggles deepens their self-awareness and leads to a more purposeful existence. \nProcessing chaos into stories and setting these stories to music\, or expressing them through other media\, fosters communication and helps bridge the gap that often exists between veterans and their loved ones\, and between civilians and veterans. Since war is destructive by its nature\, over time it may diminish the natural human instinct to create and even interfere with the ability to experience hope and joy. Helping veterans turn the destructive force of war into something meaningful and beautiful allows them to reclaim hope and joy as important forces in their lives. \n\nFacebook Event Page:  Warrior Songs Fundraiser Jason Moon\, Jesse Frewerd\, Frogwater\, and The Mambo Surfers | Facebook \n\nDoors at Noon\, Music 1pm\, $5 or a more generous donation of your choice.

SUMMARY:Ladders w/ Caley Conway\, & Valentiger * July 17\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Ladders is a rock band from Milwaukee\, WI!  Every once and a while they have a reunion! \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\nThere are moments in Caley Conway’s Latest album\, Partner…when the ever-busy Milwaukee singer-songwriter finds herself caught in the humdrum duties of daily life. There are things to do—or not—people to see—or not—and the ones and zeros of technology to attend to. And then\, suddenly\, she’s off and dreaming\, belly laughing with a distant friend or considering taking up “the work of birds.” When she comes back down to Earth\, more often than not\, she finds bliss in a comforting middle ground. “There aren’t enough hours in the day\, I’ve counted\,” Conway sings early in the record\, before slyly adding\, “For loving you.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDreams\, and the sometimes lovely\, sometimes painful realities that anchor them\, are subjects Conway knows a thing or two about. The past decade has found her cutting a constant but elusive figure in the Milwaukee music scene and beyond\, sharing local stages with Field Report and Julia Blair\, sharing national stages with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker\, and releasing a steady stream of stellar solo work. \n \n \n\nFrom the Midwestern landscapes of Michigan\, and the vinyl collection of parents’ basements\, are Valentiger. \n \nDoors at 8pm\, Music at 9pm\, $12

SUMMARY:Maximiano w/ Valley Fox\, & Lone Rock Bride * July 11\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Maximiano’s music is rarely about just one emotion\, moment\, or person. Their debut album\, “The Real Truth\,” instead explores the way that experience flows through periods of growth and change. The songs shimmer\, echo\, and glide through tales of memory and identity that Piet Levy of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel called “one of the most piercing and emotionally resonant collections of songs from a Milwaukee artist of the year… a towering achievement.” With this ringing endorsement\, The Journal Sentinel ranked “The Real Truth” as the 3rd Best Milwaukee Album of 2024. \n \n\nValley Fox: \nA northern folk power trio featuring Laura Bomber\, Joe Wais and Tori Yocum\, Valley Fox delivers bold haunting harmonies mixed with gritty string music to create a forceful\, yet thoughtful sound\, blurring the lines of folk\, bluegrass and country music. \n \n\nLone Rock Bride is an alt-country band based out of Minneapolis\, Minnesota. They write songs about poets\, pioneers\, drifters and dreamers. Their debut LP Rosette was released in April 2025. \n \n\nDoors at 6:30pm\, Music at 7:00pm\, $12adv/$15dos

SUMMARY:Nineteen Thirteen w/ The Slow Harvest * June 13\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Cellist Janet Schiff\, Percussionist Renee Luna Bebeau\, and Vocalist Jen Janviere create the new and dynamic sound that is NINETEEN THIRTEEN. Schiff plays a cello that was made in Romania in the year of 1913\, hence the band’s name. Their music suggests romance and future thought. \nPowered by cello layers and beat-brush percussion\, this multiple WAMI award winning duo defies expectations and rewards listeners with powerful imagery through their music. NINETEEN THIRTEEN was featured on PBS’ The Arts Page\, NPR’s Lake Effect\, MSNBC\, Modern Drummer Magazine\, Penthouse Magazine and has performed at BMO Harris Pavilion\, Milwaukee Art Museum\, Lakefront Festival of the Arts\, Summerfest\, The Pabst Theatre\, The Pfister Hotel\, Turner Hall Ballroom\, Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts and more….. \n \n\nThe Slow Harvest uses songwriting as unburdening – a deep\, personal catharsis without the psychiatrist. Their debut album\, Selections From The Sad Bastard Songbook\, is unflinching in its handling of seriously heavy subject matter\, but it does so with hinting subtleties\, cloaking the meanings under a blanket of singer/songwriter Americana with a moody\, half-lit\, prairie noir twist that is wonderfully listenable. \nSelections From The Sad Bastard Songbook are the stories of life’s fleeting joys and inevitable sorrows. Tales of the all-too-real human condition\, simultaneously awe-inspiring and heartbreaking. Songs written for those who know that our daily lives are nothing but theater\, with each person playing lead in a self-inflicted fantasy. We see the American Dream exposed as a cycle of indentured servitude. Social norms and universal truths revealed as schemes for control of the masses. The boxes and binaries of the given are pulled apart\, deconstructed in search of what it means to exist as a human. These are songs written for those who know we are all prisoners\, incarcerated on a rock hurtling headlong into the infinite void. For those who know there is no such thing as winning and no such thing as being right. No beginning and no end. These are songs about the hard-won redemptive power of love\, survivor’s guilt\, and the crippling fear of being alone. These are the things we are too scared to confront during the daylight hours\, but that unfailingly return to haunt us come the long nightfall. \n \n\nDoors at 7:00pm\, Music at 8:00pm\, $10

SUMMARY:Video Sex Priest w/ Chrystal Gales * June 7\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Video Sex Priest was formed by Liv Mueller and Bill Backes after they spent time playing together in iconic Milwaukee rock band The Lovelies in the ’90s and early 2000s. The two initially bonded over their mutual love of new wave\, dark wave\, post-punk and rock. –Erin Wolf\, Radio Milwaukee \n \n\nMilwaukee’s Stephen Ziel is back with his Chrystal Gales project alongside producer and engineer Mike Bliesener. Their newest song once again proves Ziel’s adeptness for creating soulfully heartbreaking music with country elements sewn into its roots \nOn today’s premiere of “Broken In\,” Ziel stretches those roots further into the local scene\, reconnecting with Milwaukee icons Goran Kralj (of the Gufs) and Jeremy Kuzniar (of Kings Go Forth\, De La Buena). \nHelping build the iconic ’90s Milwaukee scene with his band Pet Engine\, Ziel was always used to having an outlet and yet was forced to let it lie semi-dormant while he was “changing diapers and cooking macaroni and cheese” for his two children. Ziel explained that he would try as often as he could to retreat to his “‘island of misfit toys’ basement studio” to continue his musical explorations and revive his mental health with songwriting. \nHe underlines that he took a “10\,000-foot view” of his life and realized the ebbs and flows in his personal happiness matched up with the amount of time he spent on music. \n \n\nDoors 7:00pm\, Music at 8:00pm\, $10

SUMMARY:Alex Ballard & Sugarfoot Single Release w/ The Thriftones\, & The Dirty Sweet * May 31\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:The tale of Missouri-born Americana singer-songwriter\, Alex Ballard\, is certainly a rich tapestry. After Ballard’s 1980’s band Baku Press disbanded\, he relocated to Seattle to write and reflect. Although the music scene there was on the verge of exploding\, Ballard returned to his long-time home\, Milwaukee with a fresh batch of songs\, and released his first solo E.P.\, Madeira\, on Don’t Records. The E.P. was nominated for 5 WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) awards\, received rave reviews in publications like College Music Journal and airplay on both independent and commercial radio. Ballard formed Sugarfoot in 1993 to tour behind the effort. That same year\, Alex Ballard and Sugarfoot were voted one of the top 10 unsigned bands in the country\, according to Musician Magazine. \nIn 1999\, the band recorded Take a Picture (Karmadillo Entertainment Recordings)\, the band’s first full-length. It received great reviews and write-ups in Billboard Magazine and No Depression\, among other publications\, and indie sales of the record were brisk. The band toured behind the album extensively throughout the Midwest and beyond\, opening for such legendary acts as Wilco\, Little Feat\, The Band\, Semisonic\, and others. Recently\, in 2018\, they opened for Edgar Winter at the world’s largest music festival\, Summerfest. \nAlthough personnel have changed over the years\, one thing has remained consistent\, and that is the quality of Ballard’s songwriting. The current lineup\, featuring Jeff “H” Harrington on bass\, Dan Johnston on guitars\, Matt Davies on keyboards\, and Jeff Jara on drums\, delivers the goods live\, and Ballard performs at his best. On their latest releases\, Built my World and Lathe of Heaven (Karmadillo Entertainment Recordings)\, the band showcases their folk rock and Americana roots as well as their pop sensibilities. The strength of the songs combined with the current lineup will make Alex Ballard and Sugarfoot a contender for your shortlist. Check them out! \n \nThe four piece group The Thriftones draws it’s inspiration from an endless pool of musical genres. You might feel a funky 70’s jam end and a weird sonic freak-out begin. A spastic and aggressive rocker lead into a crooning waltz. They have played the outdoor festival stage\, the cozy coffeehouse\, the gallery night art opening and a lot of those clubs you find yourself in the early morning hours. \n \n\n\nI think the proper terminology is “New band\, who ‘dis?”…\n\n\nIt’s dirty.\nIt’s sweet.\nIt’s ROCK AND ROLL.\n\n\nWe’re super excited to say that we are from Milwaukee\, Wisconsin and we are THE DIRTY SWEET!\n\n\nThe Dirty Sweet are:\nJohn Daniels (Wobble Test\, Soda\, Bicentennial Drug Lord) – bass\, backing vocals\nMike DeVogel (Wobble Test\, Soda) – lead vocals\, guitar\nJeff Jara (Shatterproof\, Alex Ballard) – drums\, backing vocals\nChris Tishler (CHIEF\, Wheelie\, Mothers Room) – lead guitar\, backing vocals\n\n\n\n\nDoors 7:30pm\nThe Thriftones: 8:30 to 9:15\nAlex Ballard and Sugarfoot: 9:30 to 10:30ish\nThe Dirty Sweet: 11:00 to 11:45\n$10

SUMMARY:Front of Truck w/ Sad Laser\, The Buddyrevelles\, & Kevin Tihista/Housesitters * May 30\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Sad Laser\, with new songs by Vermillion Twins\, Steve and Gary plus some oldies with Front of Truck!! Original members Randy Diderrich and Mason Brown join the twins for the FOT set! \nSad Laser-“Collapse the One” \n \n\nThe Buddyrevelles were formed in 1997 in Eau Claire\, Wisconsin by Aaron Grant (guitar & vocals)\, Scott Hoch (bass & vocals)\, and Dan Reinholdt (drums).  In 1998\, the band recorded and released their first album\, September\, November on Motorcoat Records and subsequently relocated to Chicago. The album’s melodic layered guitars\, vulnerable vocals\, taut over-driven bass\, and propulsive drumming introduced the band’s distinct but accessible pop sound to the public. Their second album\, American Matador was released in 2000. Through it\, the band showed a willingness to experiment with increasingly complex song structures and inspired instrumental breaks\, while managing to keep their sound firmly rooted in the indie-rock idiom. After a few years\, and some major life changes\, they released their third album\,  Don’t Quit\, the band’s first release on Chicago’s Solitaire Records\, which found them distilling the very best of their previous work into a lithe\, muscular 32 minutes of indie pop bliss. \nWith a newfound sense of purpose and a wealth of life experiences to draw from\, they are poised to release more new music. Following closely on the heels of The Consolation (2024) will be the second of three 4-song EPs\, entitled The Concession. \nRecorded\, mixed and mastered by The Buddyrevelles at Erie Sounds in Chicago. The Concession marks a return to the band’s longtime label\, Motorcoat Records. \n \n\nKevin Tihista/Housesitters is a singer-songwriter and musician. He is a former bassist for the Chicago group Triple Fast Action and contributed songs to the Veruca Salt album Resolver. Tihista’s solo music is a mixture of pop and rock combining orchestration\, electronica\, vamping\, and multi-tracking. Much of his solo work has been released under the eponym\, “Kevin Tihista’s Red Terror\,” a musical collaboration between Tihista and brothers Tom and Ellis Clark of the band “Epicycle.” \n \nDoors at 7:00\, Music at 8:00pm\, $10

DESCRIPTION:Frank Hurricane – SPIRITUAL MOUNTAIN SHRYMP BLUES AND FOLK \n“Through many years of relentless road-dogging\, Hurricane has ascended to legendary status on the DIY touring circuit while receiving almost no attention from music media. I had the pleasure of seeing him twice in 2024… It’s possible that these were the two best live sets I witnessed all year.” – Andy Cush \n“The positivity that spins throughout Life is Spiritual oozes an off-kilter charm . . . Honestly\, some of the most open-hearted songwriting I’ve heard in a long time.” -NPR Music \n“You can’t throw a roach clip out the driver’s side window these days without hitting a finger-picking guitarist\, but you can’t throw a star across the galaxy and hit anything like Frank Hurricane\, and with those odds\, how can you refuse?” – Matt Krefting \n“So where\, exactly\, are we going with this? It’s a question you can’t shake from your mind when you first listen to Frank Hurricane’s hazy Appalachian folk album Life is Spiritual. As you attempt to decipher his off-kilter musings\, it eventually becomes clear – you just have to let go. This isn’t a maddening situation\, but rather freeing\, actually\, as you ride shotgun with Hurricane through his whimsical psychedelic trip. And at times\, that can get pretty strange man.” -Washington Post \n \n\nMark Adams Son of Bill consists of vocalist/guitarist Mark Adams\, bassist Simon Beno\, and drummer Spencer Powers. They play grungy rock inspired by alternative music of the 90’s and have been a band for about nearly a decade. \nAdams explained\, “I started with doing solo stuff under the name. Mark Adams felt like a boring name so I tacked on the “Son of Bill” to sound like a death notice-rock ‘n roll cliche. Then about ten years ago\, Spencer Powers started drumming with me and then we became a three-piece when Simon Beno came along. For me\, I’m definitely stuck in 91′ or 92’ as far as influences go; I hate technology and hate the Internet – I still have a flip phone but would prefer not to have one at all.” \n \n\nGore Area II \nDoors 7:00pm\, Music 8:00pm\, $10
