DESCRIPTION:Oh my\, how the time flies. Here we are again\, gearing up for the 8th year of ALL MESSED UP! Registration opens NOVEMBER 1ST at 00:00/12:00AM. If you are new to the this concept (or if you just need a little refresher)\, here’s how it works: \nSixty-four (64) people will be randomly assigned into 16 bands comprised of 4 members each. If you agree with me\, and if you can commit to the cause\, then I want you to sign up and share in this experience. \nThe rules really haven’t changed\, but PLEASE read them anyway at the facebook event page!

DESCRIPTION:“Disturbingly great. Weird. Compelling. Great. That certain something.” \nSteve Beguhn would never define himself this way\, but he doesn’t have to. Steven Tyler – Aerosmith’s legendary front man – used these words to describe Steve’s performance in a 2011 taping of American Idol. \nProducer Randy Jackson and singer/actress Jennifer Lopez agreed\, and this kid from small town Wisconsin was headed to Hollywood. He’d finish among the top 125 of over 120\,000 Season 10 hopefuls. The beginning. \nFollowing his highly publicized run on American Idol\, Steve has toured as both a solo act and motivational speaker\, and teamed up with guitarist Adam Speck in 2012. The acoustic duo entertained venues throughout the Midwest for 3 years before adding bassist Ryan Peschman in 2014 and drummer Matt Koehler in 2015. Given its roots\, this unique package is now well-equipped for any venue and any crowd – from intimate acoustic\, to rockin’ full band. \nSteve’s unique style and sound is the fusion of many influences. Melded by an honest\, rural upbringing\, 3 years in musical theatre\, 3 years with the world-renowned University of Wisconsin MadHatters a cappella group\, and his subsequent foray into pop music and songwriting\, there is no box big enough. \nVersatile. Dynamic. Indefinable. “Disturbingly great. Weird. Compelling. Great. That certain something.” \nThat’s Steve Beguhn. \nJoined tonight by Alyce Hart & Jackie Brown Band!!

Their songs blend genres (indie folk\, bluegrass\, Americana rock)\, artistic influences (Chris Thile\, Paul McCartney\, ‘90s rock) and subject matter (loss\, defiance\, the search for connection) with poetic imagery and novelistic detail\, shot through with real emotion and dynamic musicality. \nCD is Finally finished\, and this is the CD Release! DESCRIPTION:Frances Luke Accord are an independent Chicago-based duo hailing originally from South Bend\, Indiana. Both dedicated multi-instrumentalists and meticulous songwriters\, Nicholas Gunty and Brian Powers distinguish their music with genre fluidity\, buttery harmonies and acoustic ensembles. Although prevailingly a modern folk band\, FLA sip copious inspiration from Americana\, jazz\, soul\, and rock.\nSince forming during their senior year at the University of Notre Dame\, Frances Luke Accord’s approach to music has marked a boundless evolution. In December of 2012 the duo released their first record\, Kandote\, a not-for-profit\, intercultural collaboration with the Barefoot Truth Children’s Choir of Kkindu\, Uganda — an endeavor that continues to support the primary education and musical aspirations of the choir. Bringing their world/folk sound to Chicago in the summer of 2013\, the duo quickly garnered local and regional attention for their captivating live performances and stunning self-produced releases\, including the Queen for Me EP (April 2014)\, Live @ Strobe (April 2015)\, and\, most notably\, their debut full-length album\, Fluke (May 2016). \nAfter traversing 5 continents and 20 countries with only a guitar and a backpack\, Humbird returns home to sing songs from the edge of the world. Combining a wintry longing with the warmth of a familiar folktale\, Humbird stretches traditional genres of folk and Americana to embrace the unexpected. This music invites a refreshing dissonance into the house\, it leaves breadcrumbs along the path and reflects light back at the stars.

DESCRIPTION:The Carolinas were formed in Milwaukee in 1993 by singer-songwriter Dan Patscot and quickly became regional Americana favorites. Dan’s from-the-heart songs are brought to life by the innate chemistry of the band\, which can deliver a lovely two-step twang or Crazy Horse-like thunder as the song demands. \nThe band has won fans all over North America with appearances at the now-defunct Mississippi River Music Fest in St. Louis\, North by Northeast in Toronto\, and the Roy Orbison Festival in Wink\, TX\, and have shared the stage with the Smithereens\, Veruca Salt\, Walter Salas-Humara/The Silos\, Bob Wiseman of Blue Rodeo\, Sam Llanas\, Dolly Varden and Jon Dee Graham of the True Believers. \nNoted for their glacier-like forward progress\, they have nearly 50 original songs in their repertoire\, precisely five of which have actually been released on a commercially-available sound delivery medium. Currently in their 20th year\, the band is working on not one\, but two full-length records. \nBy the way\, not the same band as the Florida one with the same name. But we cheerfully challenge them to a rock-off for the rights to the name. Can anybody help me organize a rock-off? \nJoining them tonight will be Milwaukee’s one-and-only The Mighty Deerlick\, and Tim Buckley!

DESCRIPTION:Dan Rodriguez\, an artist based out of Minneapolis\, MN\, is creating quite a buzz in the Midwest. The groove-based\, bluesy over-toned sound of his music\, mixed with his powerful\, yet seductive voice creates an atmosphere different from other music. It’s refreshing\, tantalizing\, and just plain good! In January\, 2008\, Dan started a self-titled solo project in the Twin Cities. Promoting his band as a trio\, Dan started playing venues in the local music scene. As things began to go well\, a greater demand for Dan’s music rose high enough to inspire him to record an album. \nJune 13th\, 2008\, the album Unreal was released in Minneapolis\, followed by a self-titled EP in 2011. His next album\, Roaring Dan\, was released in the Summer of 2013. In September 2014 Budweiser released their “Friends Are Waiting” commercial featuring Dan’s performance of his original song “When You Come Home\,” which was written for the commercial and pitched through Minneapolis based company In The Groove Music. The Summer of 2015 marked the release of Dan’s most prolific\, and widely distributed album “Come on Home\,” featuring the Budweiser song “Friends are Waiting” and singles “Rum River” and “California.” \nKeith Pulvermacher was raised in a small town in South Eastern Wisconsin called the village of Butler. He grew up three doors down from his grandparents in the same town his parents were raised in and the majority of his family had settled in the same small community. Being brought up around so much family with strong roots in music and love\, the inspiration for his songs was instilled deep within his soul. Keith has spent all of his years as long as he can remember cultivating his craft staying dedicated to his purpose in music. \nAdvance Tickets may be bought here: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3095716

DESCRIPTION:JOYBIRD is the musical project of Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist\, Jess McIntosh. She has held many titles: fiddler\, educator\, songwriter\, performer and tour mate\, visual artist\, continual student. With JOYBIRD is the musical project of Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist\, Jess McIntosh. She has held many titles: fiddler\, educator\, songwriter\, performer and tour mate\, visual artist\, continual student. With her debut album\, Long Time Exhaling\, she has also proven herself an accomplished storyteller. \nThe album\, released in 2017\, deals with the particular griefs of moving to another city\, the end of a relationship\, and the arduous process of rebuilding that both entail. While to fear change is only human\, Jess’s music embraces the impermanence in life as something that leads to bigger knowledge\, deeper growth. Rooted in the fiddle and banjo sounds of Appalachia\, her stories speak of unfolding personal and communal strength\, told in spare poetry like that of Lucinda Williams or Anais Mitchell. “Oak is a king\, the acorn a man\, but so many kings and never a plan when the wilt took rampant hold” (“Catalpa”). \nBased in Chicago\, Jess tours internationally with Al Scorch (Bloodshot Records)\, has shared the stage with notable artists Steve Earle\, Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives\, Gil Landry (Old Crow Medicine Show)\, co-founded local country outfit\, Big Sadie\, and frequently collaborates with members of Chicago’s Old Lazarus’ Harp Folk Collective. Her original music has been featured in silent film series\, How Do We Sing?\, and Great Smoky Mountain Nat’l Park documentary\, Horace Kephart: His Life and Legacy. She was composer/co-lyricist for the play The Revel\, which debuted with the House Theater Company of Chicago in 2015\, and returns yearly as ensemble violinist for The House’s annual production\, The Nutcracker. She’s a teaching artist at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music\, and staff artist at Augusta Heritage Center’s American Vernacular Dance Week (West Virginia)\, Miles of Music Camp (New Hampshire and Boston)\, and Suzuki enrichment clinician in the Midwest. \nThistledown Thunders are a Milwaukee bluegrass band\, playing in Riverwest\, Milwaukee\, and throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Drawing influences from Bill Monroe\, Punch Brothers\, Ralph Stanley\, Earl Scruggs\, and Steve Earle\, our dulcet ballads and screaming fiddle tunes are great for any event or party.

DESCRIPTION:Armchair Boogie formed in the heart of Wisconsin in 2014 as a banjo and guitar duo. After playing a handful of shows\, Augie Dougherty (banjo) and Ben Majeska (guitar) recruited a well versed rhythm section to hold down the upbeat tempos and provide an extra oomph that’ll bring even the saddest uncle to a dance floor. This happened in October 2015; and in the few short years since\, they’ve toured consistently around the midwest\, played with top notch artists such as Jeff Austin Band and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades\, and played venues as big as The Majestic Theater in Madison. The sound has a newgrass feel that’s not afraid to delve into realms like funk or country. Keep an eye out for the first full length Armchair Boogie album being released 2017\, and don’t miss them on the road year round! \nJoining them tonight will be Wisconsin’s own Feed the Dog!! \nThis is the “official after-party” for the Yonder Mountain String Band show taking place earlier at the Potawatomi Casino Northern Lights Theater!!

DESCRIPTION:A true chance to catch a rising star\, Hudson Valley based Dylan Doyle has been putting on spellbinding performances nationally as well as internationally. Southern bred\, northern raised\, his trio’s style of music lies somewhere between roots rock and jam funk. It evokes Woodstock but also dips into southern soul. It’s a uniquely American sound Doyle calls “a big melting pot.” After sharing the stage with the young musician in Memphis a few years back\, Ben Cauley\, sole survivor of the Otis Redding plane crash and Co-founder of the Bar-Kays likened Dylan to a young Jimi Hendrix. When asked about the young talent coming up in the Hudson Valley\, Van Morrison guitarist John Platania stated “Dylan Doyle is the future.” Bill Payne of Little Feat described Dylan’s play as “Imaginative and original.” After a performance at the Chicago House of Blues the young musician was informed by a representative of Hollywood Records the Disney owned company is interested and will be tracking his development. After a recent performance at the iconic Levon Helm Studios\, Dylan was approached by James Dolan\, President of Madison Square Garden\, and was solicited to perform at future Garden events. Truly a young man with a bright future\, this is a chance to say\, “I say him when…”

DESCRIPTION:NO/NO stands apart as Milwaukee’s most evolved electro pop band\, pairing new wave sensibilities with the fuzzy\, dreamlike quality of shoegaze. With two EPs and an impressive live show making waves throughout the city\, NO/NO’s latest outing\, the full length Sound and Light\, is a slick\, wistful 8-song soundtrack to summer and beyond. \nFormed from the ashes of Milwaukee favorites The Delphines in 2014\, NO/NO got to business differentiating from their past. Expanding into electronic sounds allowed the band to form their own identity\, complete with a sound that nods to New Order’s best hooks and Beach House’s sense of melody. \nSlinky\, anthemic synths layered with tight guitar hooks and ethereal vocals are NO/NO’s trademarks\, and they’re better than ever on Sound and Light. Album opener “Waiting For Something to Happen” pairs guitarist Harrison Colby’s adept\, emotive guitar work with keyboardist Cat Ries’ bright\, catchy synths while the two trade vocals and drummer Jeremy Ault and bassist Lucas Riddle build up a tightly wound beat. “Two Lane Blacktop” pits Colby’s evocative guitar and vocals against a glistening keyboard backdrop\, while album closer “Whatever” showcases Ries’ vocals at their brightest and most tender\, letting the album close like a drive into the sunset. Clocking in at just less than 40 minutes\, Sound and Light is destined to be summer’s go-to record for late night runs\, Friday night after parties\, and smooth\, lazy Sunday afternoons. \nJoined tonight by Milwaukee’s own Zed Kenzo\, Dirty Dancing and Dashcam!! $10 entry + cassette / $5 entry

After the release of their first record\, “Tigernite”\, the band brought their dramatic performances to Summerfest\, Pridefest and the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
