DESCRIPTION:Dan Rodriguez\, an artist based out of Minneapolis\, MN\, is creating quite a buzz in the Midwest. The groove-based\, bluesy over-toned sound of his music\, mixed with his powerful\, yet seductive voice creates an atmosphere different from other music. It’s refreshing\, tantalizing\, and just plain good! \nOriginally from Detroit\, MI\, Dan moved to Minneapolis in 2004 to pursue music. He started a band with his brother\, Andre Rodriguez\, and called it The Auburns. They played locally for a couple of years and grew together as a band\, as brothers\, and as musicians. \nIn January\, 2008\, Dan started a self-titled solo project in the Twin Cities. Promoting his band as a trio\, Dan started playing venues in the local music scene. As things began to go well\, a greater demand for Dan’s music rose high enough to inspire him to record an album. \nJune 13th\, 2008\, the album Unreal was released in Minneapolis\, followed by a self-titled EP in 2011. His next album\, Roaring Dan\, was released in the Summer of 2013. \nIn September 2014 Budweiser released their “Friends Are Waiting” commercial featuring Dan’s performance of his original song “When You Come Home\,” which was written for the commercial and pitched through Minneapolis based company In The Groove Music. \nThe Summer of 2015 marks the release of Dan’s most prolific\, and widely distributed album “Come on Home\,” featuring the Budweiser song “Friends are Waiting” and singles “Rum River” and “California.” \nDan has since been playing locally and touring throughout the Midwest and beyond\, and sharing the stage with national acts including Grammy award winning duo The Civil Wars\, Pete Francis (Dispatch)\, NeedtoBreathe\, Augustana\, Tyrone Wells\, John McLaughlin\, Andy Grammer and Eric Hutchinson. \n“I’ve been in this business a long time. I recognize when somebody has something real. Dan is a true talent\, and seems to be ushering in a new wave of singer/songwriters around the Twin Cities. DESCRIPTION:Armchair Boogie formed in the heart of Wisconsin in 2014 as a bluegrass duo featuring Augie Dougherty (banjo) and Ben Majeska (guitar). After a handful of shows\, they recruited a well versed rhythm section (bassist Eli Frieders and drummer Denzel Connor) to hold down the upbeat tempos and provide an extra oomph that’ll bring even the saddest uncle to the dance floor. Since then\, they’ve toured consistently around the country playing alongside top notch acts at venerable venues and festivals like Summer Camp Music Festival and Boats & Bluegrass. The sound has a newgrass feel that’s not afraid to delve into the realms of funk or country. DESCRIPTION:Bridging both genres and generations with original music steeped in the history of its influences\, Hood Smoke’s sonic narrative illustrates timeless stories using beautifully simple melodies set to a rhythmic foundation built firmly from the bass up. \nSince the release of their debut album\, Laid Up In Ordinary (2012)\, Chicago’s Hood Smoke has continued to narrow the gap between retro and modern sounds in a unique and sincere way. \nThe band is a tour de force whose past and present members have performed with Quincy Jones\, Earth\, Wind & Fire\, Koko Taylor\, Rhymefest\, Nick Lowe\, Chris Thile\, and Umphrey’s Mcgee. \nWith their second album\, Regular Neurotic (2014)\, the band began its collaboration with producer and engineer Anthony Gravino. The record’s anthem “Never Suffering” gained the band recognition from American Songwriter and the Chicago Sun-Times declared Hood Smoke a “must-see act.” \nWith their third release Rough Around The Hedges (2016)\, which Newcity described as “whip-smart jazz-funk-fusion” whose “lyrics are top-notch throughout\,” Doherty proved his prolificacy as a composer and lyricist. 2016 also marked the band’s first national tour as they wooed audiences at large rock festivals and intimate jazz clubs\, alike. \nThe band’s fourth album Cannonball Porch (2018) showcases Doherty’s vulnerable and melancholic voice on what he promises to be “the most simplistic\, lyrically creative\, and to the point” Hood Smoke album to date. \nOpening the night will be Jesse Voelker.

DESCRIPTION:Mouse Corn is a three piece power pop trio from Milwaukee\, WI aimed at one thing with their music: having good old-fashioned fun. The trio came together when singer/guitarist Myles Coyne was seeking new members for his past project. After trying out Steve Vorass on drums and Chuck Zink on bass\, Coyne quickly realized that he had found a crew who far exceed his meager hopes for a “backing band” and the three began a new group\, Mouse Corn. \nCoyne had been performing material solo and under various folk/rock monikers for years. By the time Mouse Corn had formed\, he had grown bored of acoustic guitars and harmonica holders. With encouragement from his friends\, Myles picked up a electric guitar and started practicing his scales. In his room he played with his amp to explore guitar tones. He has been at the for-front in helping communities organize against water privatization\, mountain top removal\, nuclear energy\, incinerators\, GMOs\, fracking\, & toxic waste. \nKnown locally as the Bard Insurgent\, Tom is a veteran of stage and street theater with his writing\, acting\, and directing. DESCRIPTION:Paper Holland didn’t start out the same way as most bands. They didn’t use their parents’ open garage space or half-done basement for years of practice before the big first album. Paper Holland simply skipped that stage and went straight into creating their first album\, Happy Belated. Or so they say. They are group that can not even decide their own genre\, other than that is some kind of pop. Andy Kosanke (guitar)\, Joe Tomcheck(vocals/guitar)\, Ted Powers (drums) and Mark Yencheske (bass) make up the collective. DESCRIPTION:Bill Camplin is a singer/songwriter and acoustic guitarist who began playing professionally in the Milwaukee Area in the late 1960’s. Bill writes and arranges his own material and has produced a considerable body of work. Bill was an integral part of the Milwaukee acoustic folk scene for many years and appeared regularly at various clubs including the Blue River Café\, Numero Unos\, The Crystal Palace\, The Avante Garde and the 19th Street Coffee House. \nBand Members\nJASON KLAGSTAD – Guitars\, backing vocals – Jason is considered one of the top live and studio musicians in the Milwaukee area and has been playing professionally for over 45 years. \nHe has been a member of several area and nationally known bands\, including stints with Howie Epstein (Tom Petty)\, Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads)\, Arroyo\, Color Radio\, Warner Bros. recording artist\, Semi-Twang\, Bill Camplin (since 1974) and the local rock band favorite\, Plumb Loco. His distinctive guitar playing style has been featured on many recordings. With Peter Buffet for example\, he recorded film\, tv and recording projects\, appearing on 3 Buffett albums and the soundtrack for the Kevin Costner television special\, 500 Nations. During his performing/recording career\, Jason also ran several area music stores\, including his own – Big Music\, a specialty music instrument store\, until the mid1990’s. \nBOB ‘HOT DOG’ MUELLER – drums\, stoicism – Forty-plus years on the SE Wisconsin music scene. The driving force behind a range of bands spanning Bill Camplin’s Woodbine to virtually every A-list blues combo (Short Stuff\, Billy Flynn\, Raw Rockers\, Leroy Airmaster) and Camplin’s current ensemble. \nPAUL WEHRLEY – Bass guitar – Although Paul played trombone in marching band while in high school\, he did not envision trombone as his musical nexus. A couple of friends needed a bass player and Paul\, always the organizer\, agreed. From 1974 – 1982 Paul co-founded and played with both RIO and Arroyo\, two of the region’s seminal Country Rock bands. His early immersion in that genre provided a deep connection with Bill Camplin’s material. \nAfter his four year stint with Arroyo he became one of region’s top studio engineers\, typically working out of Waukesha’s Breezeway studios producing albums for many regional and national Artists. During this time he also played for many years with local cover rock band\, Plumb Loco. Today\, Paul is a property manager and lives in Elm Grove with his wife Jane.
