DESCRIPTION:Lil’ Rev grew up in a musical family with a Mom who loved to sing Broadway and grandparents who sang and played piano and harmonica. He purchased his first guitar at the age of 12 with his paper route money and set about learning chords and songs off of his favorite records. Guitar was followed by Harmonica\, Mandolin\, and later Banjo. \nAt about 25 years\, he was given an old beat up Wendell Hall Banjo Ukulele and likewise\, voraciously set about the task of learning how to master this humble little instrument so imbued with tradition and style. \nWhile he is hopelessly Midwestern\, his frequent travels find him teaching and touring all over the continental United States. His many unique niches include one man shows of Jewish Cultural History (Jews of Tin Pan Alley\, Jews N Blues)\, Scraps of Quilting Music (A Celebration of Quilting Lore and History in American)\, Yiddish Song & Story\, \nHarmonica Workshops for Kids and Adults\, Ukulele Festivals and Workshops\, Songwriter\, Storyteller\, Music History Lectures at Elderhostels\, and much\, much more! \nCurrently Lil Rev writes instructional books for Hal Leonard Publishing\, presents clinics all over the U.S. and tours internationally as a performer of time honored classics including: Ukulele Music\, Old-Time Blues\, Tin Pan Alley\, American Folk\, Jewish & Yiddish Folksongs\, and Original Songs. \nVoted Best Folk Singer in Wisconsin — WAMI 2004 \nInducted into The Traditional Old-Time Country Music Hall of Fame – 2003 \nVoted Best Instrumentalist Harmonica — WAMI 2000 \nVoted Best Acoustic Act in Milwaukee 1996-1997 Shepherd Express Reader’s Choice \nHohner’s 1996 National Blues Harmonica Champion \nOpening the show will be The Ukulele Sunshine Band\,  They are members of the Milwaukee Ukulele Club who found themselves playing together and playing out of the town!

DESCRIPTION:The Form is a group of 5 close friends who get together to write their own brand of music they like to call “Eclectic Soul Rock and Roll”…..  – The Fainting Room (band): Lisa Ridgely\, guitar and vocals; Sara Moilanen\, bass guitar and vocals; Ryan Elliott\, guitar and vocals; Craig Mertes\, drums. \nLisa Ridgely: A singer-songwriter who taught herself how to play guitar during her college years at UW-Milwaukee\, Lisa continued to experiment with songwriting for a decade until an ovary-related health scare inspired her to face her fear of public performance and hit some open mics. Lisa has played with Sigmund Snopek at various local gigs and festivals including St. Patrick’s Day Irish music sets\, Locust Street Days and Summerfest. Lisa has also sat in as backing vocalist with West of East and Chris DeMay. \nAfter performing her songs as a solo artist for a few years\, Lisa decided to expand her sound with a backing band\, The Fainting Room. It was a very wise choice…… –  Ricky Ganiere is a dynamic songwriter who excels as both a singer and guitar player!

DESCRIPTION:Dan Rodriguez\, an artist based out of Minneapolis\, MN\, is creating quite a buzz in the Midwest. The groove-based\, bluesy over-toned sound of his music\, mixed with his powerful\, yet seductive voice creates an atmosphere different from other music. It’s refreshing\, tantalizing\, and just plain good! \nOriginally from Detroit\, MI\, Dan moved to Minneapolis in 2004 to pursue music. He started a band with his brother\, Andre Rodriguez\, and called it The Auburns. They played locally for a couple of years and grew together as a band\, as brothers\, and as musicians. \nIn January\, 2008\, Dan started a self-titled solo project in the Twin Cities. Promoting his band as a trio\, Dan started playing venues in the local music scene. As things began to go well\, a greater demand for Dan’s music rose high enough to inspire him to record an album. \nJune 13th\, 2008\, the album Unreal was released in Minneapolis\, followed by a self-titled EP in 2011. His next album\, Roaring Dan\, was released in the Summer of 2013. \nIn September 2014 Budweiser released their “Friends Are Waiting” commercial featuring Dan’s performance of his original song “When You Come Home\,” which was written for the commercial and pitched through Minneapolis based company In The Groove Music. \nThe Summer of 2015 marks the release of Dan’s most prolific\, and widely distributed album “Come on Home\,” featuring the Budweiser song “Friends are Waiting” and singles “Rum River” and “California.” \nDan has since been playing locally and touring throughout the Midwest and beyond\, and sharing the stage with national acts including Grammy award winning duo The Civil Wars\, Pete Francis (Dispatch)\, NeedtoBreathe\, Augustana\, Tyrone Wells\, John McLaughlin\, Andy Grammer and Eric Hutchinson. \n“I’ve been in this business a long time. I recognize when somebody has something real. Dan is a true talent\, and seems to be ushering in a new wave of singer/songwriters around the Twin Cities. I can honestly say I’m excited for the world to hear what he’s got to offer.” – Michael Bland \nDoors 6:30\, Show 7pm \n\n\n\n\nPresale tickets here

DESCRIPTION:A stylistically diverse rock band from day one\, the members of Modern Joey have been pulling from a plethora of musical influences since their first rehearsal together. Relatively new to the Milwaukee scene and also still quite young\, they have come from a variety of former bands and possess a surprising level of musical knowledge for their age.  \nSeeking to be a song-oriented band\, Modern Joey puts effort into every aspect of their music\, specifically the categories of lyric writing and tight\, polished live performance. With many influences from the jam band scene as well as from prog rock\, they are no strangers to playing longer sets that also keep an audience engaged for an extended period. With three members of the band being competent vocalists\, 3-part harmony singing is an important aspect of their music which separates them from the herd. \nAt a Modern Joey show\, you will hear funky songs\, you will hear soulful songs; you will hear ballads and rockers; you just might hear sleazy rock and roll alongside a time signature you can’t place. It is that variety which all members of Modern Joey pride themselves on\, and that variety that keeps all ears satisfied. \n\nWonderful Bluffer is a progressive blues rock and soul influenced band formed in Milwaukee\, Wisconsin.

DESCRIPTION:“Wurk is a funk-fusion group from Madison\, WI\, described by Isthmus Magazine as “summer-jam-perfect”. Wurk’s style encompasses several genres\, with clear influences from bands like Snarky Puppy\, Thundercat\, Umphrey’s McGee\, Tauk\, The Motet\, Herbie Hancock\, Weather Report\, The Meters\, and many more. Their sound seeks to employ a musically educated yet groovy “Big City” tone. With songwriting by guitarist/vocalist\, Frank Laufenberg\, Wurk fills the gap between complexity and groove. Max Morkri\, a 2018 MAMA award nominee for Instrumentalist of the Year on drum set\, drives the band with his blend of solid grooving and intricate chops. Coupled with Max’s drumming\, Casey Seymour delivers powerful bass lines which pull the band together. Ryley Buchanan (synth/organ)\, Daniel Haschke (saxophone/flute) and Carl Hipenbecker (trumpet) add to Wurk’s complexity with horn lines\, effects\, and impressive solos. Most of Wurk’s members grew up in Mount Horeb\, Wisconsin\, just west of Madison. Their shared background creates the band’s closeness on stage and their ability to communicate musically. Wurk released two EPs in 2017 (Wurk\, Broken Disco); their third EP\, The Devil’s Wurk\, released in September of 2018.”

DESCRIPTION:It was in 1957 that The Esquires musical group was formed in Milwaukee. Today the Moorer family is again generating the energy and excitement of the Original Esquires. Johnny Moorer is the leading member of the group performing out today. Their debut record for Bunky/Scepter was “Get on Up”\, (1967) which became a major hit in the United States\, peaking at #11 as a pop single but reaching #3 on the R&B charts. Following the release they played Chicago’s Regal Theater and the Apollo Theatre in New York City. Further singles were also successes\, and the group released one full-length LP. After five singles on Bunky the group signed a deal with Scepter themselves late in 1968. They later returned to Bunky and then\, in 1970\, signed with Capitol Records for one single (“Reach Out”) and Lamarr Records in 1971 for “Girls in the City”. They are a beloved and well known group originally helped formed by Harvey Scales\, and now consist of Rudy Jacobs of The Seven Sounds\, and Johnny Moorer\, the son\, who continues the musical legacy. \nJoining the bill will be VINCENT CHAMBERS & THE VINSANITY BAND\, TIM & APRIL BELL\, DEE BURKS\, TAMMY MOORE\, & HOST TONY WHITEHEAD!

DESCRIPTION:Doors at 8:00pm\, show at 9pm. \n“heavenly harmonies on top of furious fingerpicking” \nFounded over 14 years ago with the simple desire to play original and powerful bluegrass\, this quartet now finds themselves at the intersection of performance\, diplomacy and education. The Henhouse Prowlers have now been to more than 25 countries across the globe. Working with the U.S. State Department and under their own nonprofit\, Bluegrass Ambassadors\, the band incorporates music from\, Asia\, the Middle East and more into their already robust repertoire of unique traditional American music. When performing live\, presenting workshops and wherever they are\, the Henhouse Prowlers find and spread the commonality we share as human beings through the universal language of music. You can feel it at every show. On stage\, the group’s electrifying performances give audiences a sense of how much they love what they do; while on record\, the band manages to explore their collective life experiences through songwriting and intricate instrumentation. While bluegrass is the undeniable foundation of the Prowlers music\, the band manages to bend and squeeze the traditional form into a sound all their own.

DESCRIPTION:Sleepersound is cinematic indie post rock incorporating influences from experimental electronic music\, 20th-century classical music\, soul\, krautrock\, and jazz. Fundamental to the band is the authentic and untouched aspect of performance: what you hear on a Sleepersound track is a live performance. Layers of simple texture revealed through tactical demonstration. Sometimes serene and chiming\, other times thunderous or melancholy. Manipulated through action and reaction as an organic act of composition. What began as Sleeper\, born from multi-instrumentalist and vocalist David D’Antonio\, was initially a lower-key\, solo acoustic/electronic project. A geographic move spurred new collaborations that resulted in the new aural fireworks and the formation of Sleepersound. \nNot a straight ahead rock band\, nor folk\, jazz\, ambient or electronic\, Sleepersound encompasses all of these to create an expansive musical palette brought to life by D’Antonio alongside an exclusive cast\, each experienced musical collaborators in their own right. \nOpening will be Haunter & HiYAN

DESCRIPTION:Armchair Boogie formed in the heart of Wisconsin in 2014 as a bluegrass duo featuring Augie Dougherty (banjo) and Ben Majeska (guitar). After a handful of shows\, they recruited a well versed rhythm section (bassist Eli Frieders and drummer Denzel Connor) to hold down the upbeat tempos and provide an extra oomph that’ll bring even the saddest uncle to the dance floor. Since then\, they’ve toured consistently around the country playing alongside top notch acts at venerable venues and festivals like Summer Camp Music Festival and Boats & Bluegrass. The sound has a newgrass feel that’s not afraid to delve into the realms of funk or country. Keep an eye out for Armchair Boogie’s debut album set to be released spring 2018\, and don’t miss them on the road year round! \nKind music for kind people. Kind Country is a Jamgrass band playing American standards as well as their own brand of Cosmic American music. Since their formation in 2012\, the band has focused creating live performances with high levels of improvisation and energy gathering with a goal of creating a moment of musical bliss that can be shared by audience members and band alike.

DESCRIPTION:The Flood Brothers Band play that further than folk thing and leave the frontage road with a tasty blend of electric tunes as well. With Sea Level style piano and vocals right out of the seventies this group is writing songs like that era is still alive and well. \nLoosely translated\, Bella Brutto means “beautiful ugly”. You already know what that means: the pleasing snarl of distorted guitar\, the chest-thumping wump of room-shaking bass\, the thunderous thrill of pounding drums\, the burn of good tequila\, the intoxicating aroma of gasoline… \nYou get the picture. Like the yin and the yang\, beauty needs counterpoint to move the soul\, spark the emotions.
