DESCRIPTION:Music 8-11 p.m. live from Linneman’s Facebook Page \nFeaturing original music from… \nCalifornia Jeff (8 p.m.)\nMon J Rane (9 p.m.)\nWhiskey and the Devil (10 p.m.) \nThirty trips around the sun. God willing\, that’s what we’ll be celebrating at Linneman’s Riverwest Inn on September 26\, 2020. \nJammin’ at Linneman’s. That’s pretty much perfect. And while the doors will be closed to in-person attendance\, Linneman’s multi-camera\, quality-audio system will beam rock ‘n’ roll to any place with an internet connection. \nCalifornia Jeff rivals Bob Weir for best barefoot storyteller I’ve ever seen grace a stage. Whiskey and the Devil melt faces with bluesy\, scotch-soaked rock riffs. \nNobody knows what the hell Mon J Rane is. I heard they’re setting up branches across America’s heartland. Reports of a freakish cult with architecturally-astounding abilities\, roaming through the Rust Belt after the bars close… those reports send a wave of crippling anxiety into any God-fearing American. I suspect\, however\, that these hooligans will bring some strange funk. And lashes of lyrical roots music. \nThe bands & venue are accepting and would appreciate tips!  Virtual tip jar:  paypal.me/linnemans1001 or  venmo@Linnemans

DESCRIPTION:Bill Camplin Band streaming live from Linneman’s  Saturday night September 5th!!  Virtual doors start streaming about 8:15pm. show begins at  8:30pm. Join us!\nStream here: Facebook.com/Linnemans-Riverwest-Inn-116315658393812 \nDonate: paypal.me/linnemans1001  or  venmo@Linnemans \nBill Camplin is a singer/songwriter and acoustic guitarist who began playing professionally in the Milwaukee Area in the late 1960’s. Bill writes and arranges his own material and has produced a considerable body of work. Bill was an integral part of the Milwaukee acoustic folk scene for many years and appeared regularly at various clubs including the Blue River Café\, Numero Unos\, The Crystal Palace\, The Avante Garde and the 19th Street Coffee House. \nBand Members\nJASON KLAGSTAD – Guitars\, backing vocals – Jason is considered one of the top live and studio musicians in the Milwaukee area and has been playing professionally for over 45 years. \nHe has been a member of several area and nationally known bands\, including stints with Howie Epstein (Tom Petty)\, Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads)\, Arroyo\, Color Radio\, Warner Bros. recording artist\, Semi-Twang\, Bill Camplin (since 1974) and the local rock band favorite\, Plumb Loco. His distinctive guitar playing style has been featured on many recordings. With Peter Buffet for example\, he recorded film\, tv and recording projects\, appearing on 3 Buffett albums and the soundtrack for the Kevin Costner television special\, 500 Nations. During his performing/recording career\, Jason also ran several area music stores\, including his own – Big Music\, a specialty music instrument store\, until the mid1990’s. \nBOB ‘HOT DOG’ MUELLER – drums\, stoicism – Forty-plus years on the SE Wisconsin music scene. The driving force behind a range of bands spanning Bill Camplin’s Woodbine to virtually every A-list blues combo (Short Stuff\, Billy Flynn\, Raw Rockers\, Leroy Airmaster) and Camplin’s current ensemble. \nPAUL WEHRLEY – Bass guitar – Although Paul played trombone in marching band while in high school\, he did not envision trombone as his musical nexus. A couple of friends needed a bass player and Paul\, always the organizer\, agreed. From 1974 – 1982 Paul co-founded and played with both RIO and Arroyo\, two of the region’s seminal Country Rock bands. His early immersion in that genre provided a deep connection with Bill Camplin’s material. \nAfter his four year stint with Arroyo he became one of region’s top studio engineers\, typically working out of Waukesha’s Breezeway studios producing albums for many regional and national Artists. During this time he also played for many years with local cover rock band\, Plumb Loco. Today\, Paul is a property manager and lives in Elm Grove with his wife Jane.

DESCRIPTION:Live shows at Linneman’s cancelled until further notice. \nAn evening of music\, satire\, and social commentary with Tom Neilson\, a Massachusetts singer-songwriter and activist\, to benefit Veterans for Peace. .Neilson provides a voice for those who believe in the power of folk music to effect change. \nIt’s a return engagement for Neilson\, who delighted the audience at last year’s VFP benefit\, the second time he had played Milwaukee. \nHis award-winning songs of humor and compassion have been performed in 21 countries on 5 continents. His lyrics are celebrated for their sophistication\, political astuteness\, & wit. \nCombining art with activism\, he has appeared with Medea Benjamin\, Cynthia McKinney\, Amy Goodman\, Cindy Sheehan\, Cesar Chavez\, Noam Chomsky\, Ralph Nader\, Ray McGovern\, Howard Zinn\, David Cobb\, many others\, & played at the Martin Luther King Center in Havana\, Cuba. \nHis travels are reflected in his songs\, intertwined with farm roots and a fervent commitment to social justice\, as he writes about historical and current events. He has been at the forefront in helping communities organize against water privatization\, mountain top removal\, nuclear energy\, incinerators\, GMOs\, fracking\, & toxic waste. \nKnown locally as the Bard Insurgent\, Tom is a veteran of stage and street theater with his writing\, acting\, and directing. His songs draw the listener into his musical response to globalization. \nHe plays at union halls\, colleges\, conferences\, cafes\, house concerts\, and has performed for countless benefits and causes. His music has been used in documentaries\, TV shows\, stage and street theater as he tells the stories of people’s struggles against greed & violence\, interjecting a good deal of levity along the way. If you ask him\, he’ll tell you he’s just a farm boy with a guitar who loves a good ball game and human rights. \nA $15 donation is suggested\, but a contribution of any amount wlll be gratefully accepted.
