SUMMARY:April 22\, 2021
DESCRIPTION:Earth Day 2021 \nWhen Jeff Poniewaz and Antler created the Earth Poets in 1988\, they knew the mortal coil was becoming more mortal\, spring more silent\, extreme weather more prevalent\, and that climate change warnings were mostly unheard or denied. They didn’t know that more than thirty years later The Earth Poets and Musicians would still be here with wisps of wisdom and humor\, drumming\, humming\, singing\, dancing\, rhyming\, and worrying. Did any of us realize how much the world would transform over those 30 plus years? Unfortunately both the scientists and the science fiction writers were right. Climate change is creating daily catastrophes worldwide. And technology is having unforeseen affects on everyone’s lives as it enables dictators and disables democracies\, turns robots into people\, and people into robots\, turns lies into truth and truth into lies. We have plenty to think about\, to sing about\, to rhyme about\, to figure out; we have an amazing planet to save. \nFor their 33rd Anniversary Performances\, three of the original poets\, Louisa Loveridge-Gallas\, Suzanne Rosenblatt\, and Harvey Taylor\, and the two musician members of the group\, Jahmes Finlayson and Holly Haebig Wake will continue to transform inconvenient truths into conscientious action. This Earth Day performance will benefit The Milwaukee River Advocates Co-op.  You can find more about them at their web address:  http://milwaukeeriveradvocates.org/\n \nThis Streaming performance and fundraiser can be found on Linneman’s Facebook page at 7:55pm. Look for the video with the red ‘live’ button\, and click on video to maximize screen.  Donations appreciated and accepted and 100% of money collected will benefit The Milwaukee River Advocates Co-op! SUMMARY:April 10\, 2021
DESCRIPTION:Strup & Friends is just that: a group put together by local musician Carl Erikstrup with four of his closest friends\, Logan Furuta\, John Lenz\, Jackson Payne\, and Christian Porter. \nIn December 2020\, after nearly 10 months of not playing live with local band Modern Joey\, Carl was starting to go stir crazy. He realized he had two options. He could either wait until that magical day when Milwaukee’s live music scene comes back to life\, or take action and find an outlet for his songs. The latter won out\, and Carl decided to put a band together. The sound that Strup & Friends puts out is a blend of all types of American music with a pinch of twang. Carl’s lyrics and stories are typically rooted in honky-tonk and blues tropes\, covering everything from broken hearts and lost love to hangovers in jail. With influences coming from the old (Merle Haggard\, Waylon Jennings\, The Grateful Dead)\, the new (Jason Isbell\, Dawes\, Chris Stapleton) and so much more\, Strup & Friends hopes to capture an authentic\, simple and rootsy sound to complement Carl’s songs. \n40% capacity will be allowed into the show at Linneman’s on a first-come\, first-serve basis. There will be a $5 cover charge at the door. For those watching at home\, please contribute to the virtual tip jar here: paypal.me/linnemans1001 or venmo@Linnemans \nThe Streaming performance can be found on Linneman’s Riverwest Inn Facebook page Beginning at 7:30pm!

God willing\, that’s what we’ll be celebrating at Linneman’s Riverwest Inn on September 26\, 2020. \nJammin’ at Linneman’s. That’s pretty much perfect. And while the doors will be closed to in-person attendance\, Linneman’s multi-camera\, quality-audio system will beam rock ‘n’ roll to any place with an internet connection. \nCalifornia Jeff rivals Bob Weir for best barefoot storyteller I’ve ever seen grace a stage. Whiskey and the Devil melt faces with bluesy\, scotch-soaked rock riffs. \nNobody knows what the hell Mon J Rane is. I heard they’re setting up branches across America’s heartland. Reports of a freakish cult with architecturally-astounding abilities\, roaming through the Rust Belt after the bars close… those reports send a wave of crippling anxiety into any God-fearing American. DESCRIPTION:Bill Camplin Band streaming live from Linneman’s  Saturday night September 5th!!  Virtual doors start streaming about 8:15pm. show begins at  8:30pm. Join us!\nStream here: Facebook.com/Linnemans-Riverwest-Inn-116315658393812 \nDonate: paypal.me/linnemans1001  or  venmo@Linnemans \nBill Camplin is a singer/songwriter and acoustic guitarist who began playing professionally in the Milwaukee Area in the late 1960’s. Bill writes and arranges his own material and has produced a considerable body of work. Bill was an integral part of the Milwaukee acoustic folk scene for many years and appeared regularly at various clubs including the Blue River Café\, Numero Unos\, The Crystal Palace\, The Avante Garde and the 19th Street Coffee House. \nBand Members\nJASON KLAGSTAD – Guitars\, backing vocals – Jason is considered one of the top live and studio musicians in the Milwaukee area and has been playing professionally for over 45 years. \nHe has been a member of several area and nationally known bands\, including stints with Howie Epstein (Tom Petty)\, Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads)\, Arroyo\, Color Radio\, Warner Bros. recording artist\, Semi-Twang\, Bill Camplin (since 1974) and the local rock band favorite\, Plumb Loco. His distinctive guitar playing style has been featured on many recordings. With Peter Buffet for example\, he recorded film\, tv and recording projects\, appearing on 3 Buffett albums and the soundtrack for the Kevin Costner television special\, 500 Nations. During his performing/recording career\, Jason also ran several area music stores\, including his own – Big Music\, a specialty music instrument store\, until the mid1990’s. \nBOB ‘HOT DOG’ MUELLER – drums\, stoicism – Forty-plus years on the SE Wisconsin music scene. The driving force behind a range of bands spanning Bill Camplin’s Woodbine to virtually every A-list blues combo (Short Stuff\, Billy Flynn\, Raw Rockers\, Leroy Airmaster) and Camplin’s current ensemble. \nPAUL WEHRLEY – Bass guitar – Although Paul played trombone in marching band while in high school\, he did not envision trombone as his musical nexus. A couple of friends needed a bass player and Paul\, always the organizer\, agreed. From 1974 – 1982 Paul co-founded and played with both RIO and Arroyo\, two of the region’s seminal Country Rock bands. His early immersion in that genre provided a deep connection with Bill Camplin’s material. \nAfter his four year stint with Arroyo he became one of region’s top studio engineers\, typically working out of Waukesha’s Breezeway studios producing albums for many regional and national Artists. During this time he also played for many years with local cover rock band\, Plumb Loco. Today\, Paul is a property manager and lives in Elm Grove with his wife Jane.

SUMMARY:August 8\, 2020
DESCRIPTION:One of Wisconsin’s most legendary musicians\, Sigmund Snopek has played on many of the worlds most famous stages. From opening up for Jimi Hendrix at the Atlanta Pop Festival in 1970\, to playing keyboards for 20 years with the Violent Femmes\, Sigmund has been around the block! Linneman’s is proud to welcome him\, and his wife Denise\, to perform one of our first ever streaming shows! This is a streaming only event – Linneman’s will not be open to the public. Because of a lack of shows\, both Sigmund and Linneman’s are welcoming tips to help them along the way. Please contribute here: paypal.me/linnemans1001 or venmo@Linnemans \nThe Streaming performance can be found on Linneman’s Riverwest Inn Facebook page Beginning at 7pm!
