DESCRIPTION:Lost Orange Cat is a Milwaukee Folk N’ Roll group comprised of four members. Their catalog features original material composed and written by the members of the band. Lost Orange Cat has a unique combination that will rotate between both Josh Konkel on guitar and Daniel Rathmann on Bass as the lead vocalist\, while also flipping between their primary instruments. Add a mandolin\, played by Joe Royten\, into a singer songwriter rock n’ roll band along with full drums and percussion provided by Kyle Ciske and you get the individualistic sound that is… Folk N Roll. \n \n\nFor more than eight years and 500+ shows the ever-evolving Americana outfit Gin Mill Hollow has been showcasing their unique approach to string-band music throughout the mid-west and beyond. Born as an acoustic duo at the Up North Bar in Madison\, Wisconsin\, the group found traction in the area after adding mandolin and eventually percussion to the mix. As a four-piece band\, Gin Mill Hollow’s performances sound more like a rock show\, often with electric guitar and effected mandolin solos soaring over driving rhythm and harmony. Blending genres like bluegrass and folk with jazz and blues\, the live experience is enhanced by an engaging lighting display\, syncing the aural and visual senses. With two studio albums to their credit\, the band continues to write new material with plans to record and release these works in various media formats. \n \n\nDoors 7pm\, Music\, 8pm\, $15

SUMMARY:Daniel Rey & the Revenirs w/ Bellends\, & Eric Hagen * June 7\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Daniel Rey & the Revenirs are a Chicago Alt-Country outfit whose tunes embrace a sonic sensibility reminiscent of the Drive-By Truckers\, Whiskeytown\, Son Volt and the Sadies. \nThe Revenirs sound revolves around singer/songwriter Daniel Rey’s tales of “sorrow and solitude” like a fever dream embodied by the many “low down” souls he’s encountered along the way. The band features Dennis Kardys on guitar and Dean Radzik on drums\, both alums of Chicagoland alt-country darlings\, The Dirty Green alongside former The Soup (Denton TX) bassist\, Dodgy Mary (Chicago) vocalist and Lone Star Native “Catfish” Willy Hudson on bass. \n“Daniel Rey” began as the solo Alt-country\, side-project of singer/songwriter Dejan Kralj (day-on kraal)\, who has spent the last three and a half decades as the bass guitarist and one of the primary songwriters for Milwaukee’s reclusive alternative-rock band\, The Gufs.  The former Atlantic Recording/EMI Publishing Artist and 2012 Wisconsin Area Music Industry Hall of Fame Inductee is a life-time resident of the Midwest\, Rey (the Spanish translation of Kralj) and divides his time between his current home in the Veltway community of Berwyn and a small farm in Southeastern Indiana\, which has been the source of his alt-folk/alt-country musings over the last twenty-five years. \n\nBellends formed in the studio around a project that evolved into the record “A Feast for the Crows”  Now making waves with their unique mix of heady driving rhythms\, soaring guitar solos\, and lyrics that cut straight to the heart. Their songs tell the stories of love\, loss\, and the struggles of everyday life with the passion and intensity that could only come from the streets and dives of Milwaukee. When they take the stage\, the band delivers their catchy hook driven songs with that same train driving intensity.  Beginning to end their performances are moving as they are powerful. \n \n\nBased in the MIdwest\, Eric Hagen‘s well-rooted sound rings with perplexing authenticity\, suggesting he illegally phone-tapped into the wellspring at the heart of all timeless classics. Often praised for his powerful voice\, he can infuse a modern story with gospel-like depth. \nHagen has been writing and performing a delicate blend of intimate\, vulnerable lyrics and musical hooks. \nHis debut album\, “Revival”\, received rave reviews. \nAmericana UK gave the album a 9 out of 10 and said “‘Revival’ is emotionally challenging and beautiful. Savour this album slowly\, first listening to the careful mixture of music and mood\, then allowing yourself to be moved by the memories it revives while marvelling at the magic of the man who put it all together. \nHagen’s new EP\, “Memories Don’t Love You Back”\, is out now on all streaming platforms. \n \n\nDoors at 7:00pm\, Music at 7:30pm\, $10

SUMMARY:Resurrectionists w/ Haploid\, Operations\, & Sun Silo * July 13\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Resurrectionists\, a band hailing from Milwaukee\, Wisconsin. \nHistory and Formation: \nThe Resurrectionists came together in early 2019. The project emerged after the breakup of another band called Work\, in which the bassist and singer/guitarist Joe Cannon were both members. \nWork had a mix of punk energy and slower\, desperate-sounding songs. When Work disbanded due to the drummer moving to Texas\, Joe and bassist Jeff Brueggeman explored various successor projects. \nThe Resurrectionists were born out of the idea of focusing exclusively on the slower\, more melancholic side of their music \n \n\nHaploid: A venn diagram of noise/indie/prog/pop. I love venn diagrams. \n \n\nOperations is an indie rock band based in Milwaukee\, Wisconsin. The duo\, consisting of Charles Markowiak and Alisa Rodriguez (Apollo Vermouth)\, formed the band in spring 2018 while playing together in the group Sundial Mottos. In Operations\, they share guitar\, songwriting\, and vocal duties. John Schoneman from the slowcore-worship group Haunter plays drums\, and Sam Gargulak handles bass. Since December 2018\, Operations has been performing shows in and around Milwaukee. Their debut album\, Fog Museum\, was recorded in Chicago\, IL\, during Labor Day weekend in 2019. It was engineered and mixed by Dave Vettraino (from The Hecks) and mastered by Mikey Young (known for Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Total Control) \n \n\nSun Silo   is a four-piece art rock group based in Kenosha Wisconsin. Combining elements of psychedelic rock\, jazz\, and dream pop\, the group maintains to write and release music with an explorative spirit and lighthearted creativity. \n \n\nDoors 7:30pm\, Music 8:00pm\, $10

SUMMARY:Violet Wilder w/ Sushi Cowboy\, & YaYa Biggs * July 27\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Once upon a time\, three music nerds became best friends in college and formed Violet Wilder – a genre-bending group that explores sounds of alternative indie\, rock & roll\, and folk. VW’s compositions incorporate piano\, viola\, acoustic & electric guitar\, miscellaneous percussion\, and (last but NOT least) sumptuous 3-part harmony. Sometimes they write unconventional melodies & harmonies\, and sometimes they take you on a sonic journey. Whatever happens\, they aim to keep you listening. \n \n\nYaYa Biggs is a funk and jazz band based in Milwaukee\, Wisconsin. The band accidentally formed in 2016 when Jonathan Chacon invited coworkers Adam Labban and Michael Stearns to jam with him and his roommate Brendan Smith in their basement. Drawn in by the funk and rhythm\, a few strangers wandered into the basement\, mistaking the jam for a party \n \n\nSushi Cowboy is an energetic rock band hailing from Milwaukee\, WI. Their music blends elements of blues\, alternative\, indie\, folk\, and classic rock. The band consists of the following talented members: \n\nEvan Hummer: Keyboards\nDave Williams: Drums\nNoah Rueckl: Bass\, vocals\nJake Ringelstetter: Rhythm guitar\, vocals\nBrandon Messmer: Lead guitar\, vocals\n\n \n\nDoors @ 7pm\, Music @ 8pm-11:30pm\, $10 cover charge
