SUMMARY:November 4\, 2022
DESCRIPTION:XPOSED 4HEADS is a legendary funny new wave art rock band led by Mark G.E. with Kelp Chofs\, Bob Jorin\, Greg Barta\, Andy Stilin\, Theresa Ala Mode & Linda Strain\, and a history of incredible collaborators; Carter Hunnicutt\, Frank London\, James Chance\, Blaine Reininger\, Debra Evans\, Al Mothersbaugh and others.  Enthusiastically positive and proudly quirky! \n \n\n“Fuzzysurf is a band suited for any era. Since formally introducing themselves to Milwaukee music fans with 2017’s great Me Wocky EP\, the quartet has quickly garnered attention with their distinct sound that perfectly blends elements of ’60s-era surf pop with aspects of modern day indie rock.”  (from Milwaukee Record’s “25 Best Albums of 2019”). \n“It would be too simple to say that Sweet Tooth is pure bubblegum pop. There are a bevvy of different influences that make sporadic appearances from one track to another. The band incorporates the best elements of The Beach Boys at their creative peak and gives that feel an update for the contemporary audience. \nSweet Tooth\, however\, is an indie pop treat that is the product of well-crafted songwriting\, no matter how you look at it.” (Shepherd Express) \nThe Milwaukee-based quartet is composed of Sean Lehner (vox/guitar)\, Corey Murphy (organ/electric piano/keyboard)\, Ben Giddens (bass/vox)\, and Mike Roy (drums). \n\nDoors at 7pm\, show at 8pm\, $10

DESCRIPTION:Powered by Louie Lucchesi’s unmistakable voice\, Louie & The Flashbombs perform original songs co-authored by Lucchesi and veteran Milwaukee songwriter Mike Benign. The Flashbombs’ songs blend Lucchesi’s love of 1970s New York City rock with Benign’s knack for hooky alternative pop. \nRounding out The Flahsbombs are a Who’s Who of Milwaukee musicians: drummer Bo Conlon (BoDeans\, Pat McCurdy\, Crime Family)\, bass Paul Biemann (Blue in The Face\, The Mike Benign Compulsion\, Arms & Legs & Feet)\, guitarist Al Hildenbrand (Pet Engine\, Britpop) and keyboardist Matt Meixner (Mea Jima\, Milwaukee Underground Duo). \nLucchesi began his career performing at notorious New York City nightclubs like Tramps\, CBGB’s and The Bitter End. He returned to Milwaukee and fronted bands that included Crime Family\, Brother Louie and Klaus Nomi’s Homies. \n \n\nTesta Rosa   Ever glance down at the speedometer and realize those cherries in the rear view really are for you? DESCRIPTION:7:30 p.m. – Wise Jennings\n8:30 p.m. – Ben Harold & The Rising\n9:30 p.m. – J.R. & The Strangers\n10:30 p.m. – Chris Haise Band \n\nThe Milwaukee based Chris Haise Band‘s (pronounced Hi-zee) music is a blend of hook filled ballads and toe tappers. Mixing Folk and Rock\, Haise’s vocals have been described as Dylan meets Springsteen meets Petty\, while his lyrics have been described as “smart new songwriting” and “Intense\, Thoughtful Songcraft”. \nIn 2017\, Chris Haise released his solo album entitled “Your Ugly Friends” which was nominated for 88Nine’s  Music Awards for Album of the Year\, Independent Release of the Year\, and Solo Artist of the Year.  He was also selected as NSAI “One to Watch” along with winning Dylan Days Singer/Songwriter Contest. \n \n\nRolling through the heartland of Americana rust\, J.R. & The Strangers are on a roots rock mission to write songs and rattle stages. When Justin Jagler\, Ryan Neale\, Jake Stanzer and Lee Gray come together\, driving rhythms and dynamic guitars turn the pages of a neo-western book of revelations. \n \n\nBen Harold & The Rising combines elements of rock\, roots-rock\, and Americana – taking inspiration from bands like Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers\, Wilco\, and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band – Ben Harold & The Rising mold both older and current styles to create a unique sound that is both familiar and modern. \n \n\nWise Jennings:  A Punk\, Psycho-billy\, Alt-Americana\, Outlaw Country burrito if there was such a thing and you could listen to it. \n \n\nDoors at 7pm\, show at 8pm\, $10 \n  \n

Whether performing solo or as a band\, Next Paperback Hero retains the intimacy of a singer-songwriter while creating a distinctly soulful\, dynamic experience. \nNext Paperback Hero’s first full length record ‘Morning Skies & Heavy Eyes’ is available on all digital platforms.  For fans of The National\, Elliott Smith\, boygenius\, Bon Iver \n \n\nEllie Jackson delivers determined vulnerability exploring emotions through guitars\, stories\, amplification and a careful balance of harmony and dissonance that creates pulpy folk rock songs you may find in a context less frequently tied to the Midwest. \n \n\nDedicated to the exploration of sadness\, Dial-Up Stepmom reimagines the work of today’s most prevalent sad songwriters with their tenor saxophones.

DESCRIPTION:Planned Parenthood Benefit with Eccentric Acoustic!  Doors at 3pm\, show at 4pm\, Donation at door goes to Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin!! \n\nEccentric Acoustic is a trio featuring Ruth Williams on mandolin\, Sandy Stehling on guitar\, and Scott Emmons on bass. They perform a wide variety of music\, ranging from swing era jazz and country blues to more contemporary country\, folk\, and Americana. \nRuth Williams started singing harmony while doing the family dishes with her sister. She currently sings with Milwaukee’s Bel Canto Chorus. Ruth forsook the autoharp for the mandolin some years ago and has been a stalwart member of the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra for more than twenty years.Sandy Stehling began playing guitar as a way to avoid studying while attending UW-Madison. His transcript shows the success of this strategy. The lively folk music scene on campus at the time was a major influence. He has been heard playing as a soloist and in various groups in the Milwaukee area for many years. Scott Emmons\, a multi-instrumentalist\, is dean of the UW-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts. He performs in a classical guitar quartet\, plays mando-cello in the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra\, and is the director of the New Horizons Band in Waukesha. Ruth and Sandy have been making music together since they first met some thirtyyears ago. They have played with Scott informally in various musical gatherings in the Milwaukee area\, and have enjoyed collaborating with Scott seriously for the past four years. The process of combining three individuals’ musical tastes into an ensemble repertoire yields the serious fun that is Eccentric Acoustic. \n\nPaul Smith & Andy Jehly bring harmony\, humor\, and laid-back style to favorite songs from the past\, ranging from folk and blues to Motown and psychedelic rock. \nPaul and Andy come from very different musical backgrounds. Paul’s most significant musical  influences are 1960’s psychedelic and folk rock\, including the Grateful Dead\, Jefferson Airplane\, Arlo Guthrie\, Jorma Kaukonen\, the Beatles\, Larry Campbell\, the Byrds\, and Buffalo Springfield.  Andy’s are old traditional folk\, R&B\, and country\, including Pete Seeger\, Doc Watson\, Hank Williams\, Merle Haggard\, Aretha Franklin\, and Otis Redding. \nWhat they share is a passion for music with history\, great harmonies\, and evocative lyrics.  Together\, they specialize in bringing a fresh set of songs from a variety of genres each time they perform to engage audiences and get them singing along. Both multi-instrumentalists\, they incorporate guitar\, dobro\, bass\, and the one-of-a-kind gourdalele into their music. \nPaul and Andy have been playing together for the past year\, although they have been performing solo and with other groups (Paul is also part of the acoustic folk group Cadence) for several years. \n \n\n

Formed in 2016 by guitarist/vocalist Steven Baird and bassist Benjamin Meredith\, they rounded out their lineup in 2019 with guitarist Matt Schmus and drummer Nate Otto.\nTheir lead single “Never Get It Right”\, which will be released on 8/6 along with a music video\, is a deliciously frustrated manifestation of living presently in the moment of failure. It’s punk and surf-rock influenced chorus takes you by the shoulders\, shakes you\, and asks what you’re doing with your life. “Never Get It Right” is a follow up to Man Random’s three quarantine period releases\, “Can’t Sit Still”\, “Death Perception” and “100%”. DESCRIPTION:Milwaukee WI’s Indonesian Junk take all the best elements of classic punk\, glam\, and power pop\, while ditching the fluff to create a sound often compared to the sleazy New York underground of the 1970s. All the while\, their catchy hook driven choruses and thick guitar sound maintain a freshness perfect for modern audiences. The band was formed in 2014 when Daniel James (Chinese Telephones / Ramma Lamma) posted some home recorded demos to Bandcamp. James quickly recruited bassist Johnny Cyanide (Nerve Twins) and a few others to begin playing the songs live. \n \nNato Coles & the Blue Diamond Band formed in 2010 on the west side of Minneapolis\, Minnesota. Best described as a high energy rock’n’roll band\, Nato and the Blue Diamond Band all come from a background of playing in various punk rock bands down over the years\, and that mentality is present in the more straight-ahead driving style of music they play\, with songs running the stylistic gamut from power-pop through garagey punk through Americana and rootsier material. Nato and the Blue Diamond Band have toured across the continent several times\, and might be doing so at this very moment\, depending on when one is reading this sentence. The current members of the band are Matt Engelstad (bass)\, Luke Lecheler (keyboards)\, Sam Beer (lead guitar)\, Mike Cranberry (drums)\, and Nato. \n \nMad Mojo Jett is a Party-Rock\, Garage-Trash\, Doom-Pop Quartet from\nMinneapolis\, MN. Their origins trace back to jazz classes at the University of Minnesota\, where Andrew Tomten (Bandleader and saxophone) met Alex Browne (trumpet)\, Sam Rosenstone (keys)\, Tarek Abdelqader (drums)\, and Andy Schupp (bass). \n \n\nFunky Chemist is an organ trio that fuses funky grooves with heavy guitar and adds a strand of psychedelic rock into what would otherwise be categorized as a jazz act. The music is most influenced by Stanton Moore Trio\, Soulive\, Dr. Lonnie Smith and The Meters. \nFunky Chemist released their first collection of songs 3/27/20. The band recorded with Ric Probst at Tanner-Monagle\, Gary Tanin at Daystorm mastered the album\, and the eight track effort clocks in at just under 38 minutes. Inspired mainly by Birdy\, He is We\, Saphir\, dodie and Aspen Grove\, she creates alternative tunes that will constitute her upcoming album “Dairy Ballads”. \n \n\nLoBi is a singer-songwriter hailing from Milwaukee’s east side. Whether playing with the full live band\, or just alone\, LoBi concocts a cathartic sound for a nostalgic time you might’ve not been around for. Music for the wall flowers and the weirdos in the back. \n \n\nMicah Emrich is an Independent Pop artist from Milwaukee. Micah showcases versatility\, ambition\, and passion as a songwriter\, producer\, and performer. Drawing inspiration from Alt pop\, RnB\, Hip-Hop\, Blues\, Alt-Rock and EDM\, he describes his sound as “alternative everything.” \n \n\nDoors at 7pm\, show at 8pm\, $10
