  • Bella Brutto

The Flood Brothers Band play that further than folk thing and leave the frontage road with a tasty blend of electric tunes as well. With Sea Level style piano and vocals right out of the seventies this group is writing songs like that era is still alive and well.

Loosely translated, Bella Brutto means “beautiful ugly”. You already know what that means: the pleasing snarl of distorted guitar, the chest-thumping wump of room-shaking bass, the thunderous thrill of pounding drums, the burn of good tequila, the intoxicating aroma of gasoline…

You get the picture. Like the yin and the yang, beauty needs counterpoint to move the soul, spark the emotions. This is what lies at the heart of the Bella Brutto quest and experience: beauty with bite.

Bella is a four-piece rock/variety, original/cover band, consisting of Milwaukee music veterans Tom Plutshack (Tritonics, the Spiders from Milwaukee, Edgar Allen Cash, the Falcons, the Lost Pioneers, C-Food Buffet [and many others, see bio]) on guitar; Jared Drake (the Northliners, Mistic Krewe, the Lost Pioneers, Bean Hoy) on bass; Bob Mueller (Bean Hoy, the Lost Pioneers, Wrecking Yard) on drums, and Twila Jean (TJ and the Blue Roots, chansons du trio Twila Jean) on guitar, keys, and accordion. Vocal duties are traded and shared.
